Vieraan kielen opettaja tekee luokkahuoneessa jatkuvasti valintoja luokkahuonekielen suhteen, olivatpa nuo valinnat sitten tietoisia tai tiedostamattomia. Opettaja voi puhua joko kohdekieltä tai oppilaiden äidinkieltä niissä eri vuorovaikutustilanteissa, joita hän oppitunnilla kohtaa. Kielenvalinta vieraan kielen opetuksessa on synnyttänyt paljon keskustelua asiantuntijoiden keskuudessa. We present a new class of binary words: the prefix normal words. They are defined by the property that for any given length $k$, no factor of length $k$ has more $a$'s than the prefix of the same length. These words arise in the context of indexing for jumbled pattern matching (a.k.a. permutation matching or Parikh vector matching), where the aim is to decide whether a string has a factor with a given multiplicity of characters, i.e., with a given Parikh vector. Pārliecinošu valodas līdzekļu lietojums uzņēmumu misiju apgalvojumos

Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek analizēti pārliecinošie valodas līdzekļi un to izmantošana uzņēmumu misiju apgalvojumos klientu uzmanības piesaistīšanai. Pētījuma mērķa sasniegšanai tika izmantotas dīvas metodes: atbilstošās literatūras izpēte un diskursa analīze. Pētījuma datu kopums sastāv no trīsdesmit naftas kompāniju misiju apgalvojumiem. Tika secināts, ka misiju apgalvojumos izmantotie pārliecinošie valodas izteiksmes līdzekļi ietekmē lasītāju piesaistot to uzmanību. Turklāt, pētījums atklāj, ka izvēlētajā korpusā visbiežāk izmantotie pārliecinošās valodas līdzekļi ir: īpašības vārds (26%), iekļaujošā valoda (19%), vietniekvārdi (18%), atkārtošanās (17%), aliterācija (12%).

Rasinen työskenteli aiemmin luokanopettajana CLIL-opetusta toteuttavassa perusopetuksen koulussa Jyväskylässä ja on tehnyt kasvatustieteenalan väitöskirjan vieraskielisestä perusopetuksesta. The fundamental transformations of contemporary world, which have encompassed also science and language reality, have posed a peculiar challenge to linguistics. A relevant linguistics-founded response ought to be an increased interest in all ways of language existence (concrete communication acts and their products in the form of texts, a system language, individual language awareness and collective language consciousness) as well as their interactions. Its effect should be, besides many new empirical concepts, a fuller synthesizing theory.

L’objet de notre étude est de situer l’œuvre de Philippe Pinel (1745-1826) : Traité médico-philosophique sur l’aliénation mentale ou la manie, publié en 1801, dans l’histoire de la psychiatrie française et espagnole. Après un rapide rappel de ce qu’était le traitement de la folie depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’au XIXe siècle pour mieux juger de l’importance de Pinel, nous analysons les répercussions de ce traité, non seulement en France mais aussi en Espagne où il fut introduit grâce à la traduction de Luis Guarnerio y Allavena, Tratado médico-filosófico de la enagenación del alma o manía, publiée en 1804. AbstractA crucial skill in infant language acquisition is learning of the native language phonemes. This requires the ability to group complex sounds into distinct auditory categories based on their shared features. Problems in phonetic learning have been suggested to underlie language learning difficulties in dyslexia, a developmental reading-skill deficit. We investigated auditory abilities important for language acquisition in newborns with or without a familial risk for dyslexia with electrophysiological mismatch responses (MMRs). Learning a foreign language means being in contact with a new environment of sounds compared to that of the mother tongue. The foreign language teacher must help learners to access these sounds both from a perception and a production point of view. The verbo-tonal method of phonetic correction designed in the 1960s-1970s by Professor Petar Guberina (University of Zagreb) provides teachers with tools to correct learners’ pronunciation.
