INTRODUCTION: cognitive deterioration and reductions of bone health coincide with increasing age. We examine the relationship between bone composition and plasma markers of bone remodelling with measures of cognitive performance in healthy adults.METHODS: this cross-sectional study included 225 old (52% women, mean age: 74.4 ± 3.3 years) and 134 young (52% women, mean age: 23.4 ± 2.7 years) adult participants from the MyoAge project. This research studies the effectiveness of different VR formats and devices in a virtual store environment, namely V-commerce. This study proposes and test a conceptual model that analyses the relations between sense of presence, brand recall and purchase intention, while also going deeper into their antecedents. When analysing complex sequence data with multiple channels (dimensions) and long observation sequences, describing and visualizing the data can be a challenge. Hidden Markov models (HMMs) and their mixtures (MHMMs) offer a probabilistic model-based framework where the information in such data can be compressed into hidden states (general life stages) and clusters (general patterns in life courses). Hierarchical structures in Complex Systems: from DNA to financial markets

In this paper we discuss the concepts of short-range and long-range correlated stochastic processes and we investigate the presence of such variables in two model complex systems. The selected model systems are DNA sequences of complete genomes and financial time series of equities traded in a stock market. Specifically, by starting from our research results, we discuss the statistical properties of (i) coding and non-coding regions of DNA and (ii) equity returns and volatility in financial markets. The stylized facts about these variables are presented and discussed with a focus on the statistical tools already used and/or still needed to better characterize these model complex systems.

Automatic alignment between relational schema and ontology represents a big challenge in Semantic Web research due to the different expressiveness of these representations. Studying unemployment is generally done in terms of market. In this type of analysis is not, however, easy to show compulsory redundancy. Furthermore, it's nowadays difficult to deny the existence of this kind of underemployment. According to the Keynesian theory it seems interesting to consider the analysis in terms of circulation.
