Carbonatitic dykes that crop out in the central western part of Fuerteventura Basal Complex (Ajuy, Punta de la Nao), were affected by the Miocene intrusive event responsible for contact metamorphism and partial melting of part of the alkaline-carbonatitic complex. Textural characteristics, monazite enriched in LREE (La, Ce, Nd) formation processes in microfractures that affect zircon crystals, show carbonatite interactions with hydrothermal fluids and partial REE remobilization. The effect of hydrocarbon on a pilot plant membrane bioreactor system

The paper reports the main results from an experimental gathering campaign carried out on a bench scale plant for the evaluation of hydrocarbon effect on the system performance. In particular, a membrane bioreactor (MBR) under submerged configuration was analysed. The MBR plant was fed with synthetic wastewater containing hydrocarbons. Organic carbon, hydrocarbons and ammonium removal, kinetic constants, extracellular polymeric substances (EPSs) production and membranes fouling rates have been assessed. The observed results highlighted good system performance in terms of both COD removal and nitrification, thus showing a sort of biomass adaptation to hydrocarbon. Such a result has been also…
Un approccio radiometrico e petrografico per l’analisi di campioni dei monti delle Madonie (Sicilia, Italia)

Una campagna di prelievo nella regione montagnosa delle Madonie (Sicilia) è stata recentemente effettuata per caratterizzare dal punto di vista dosimetrico zone con differenti caratteristiche litologiche. Al termine della campagna sono stati raccolti 41 campioni di terreno e rocce selezionati in base alla loro natura. Tutti i campioni sono stati poi triturati, essiccati e sigillati in beakers "Marinelli" per 20 giorni prima della misura per garantire il raggiungimento dell’equilibrio radioattivo tra 226Ra e 214Bi. Love melancholy is a central aspect of early modern era. Sixteenth century Italy is dominated by Petrach’s model, the acedia, a condition which is characterized by love pain and lack of reciprocity. But during the seventeenth century also a new melancholy feeling appears, a more gentle one characterized by a sweet nostalgia.
