La mafia alla sbarra. I processi fascisti a Palermo

2014

2022

Ritorno a Palermo dopo tredici anni trascorsi in Umbria.

Spoken-Word Segmentation and Dyslexia

2002

We used magnetoencephalography to elucidate the cortical activation associated with the segmentation of spoken words in nonreading-impaired and dyslexic adults. The subjects listened to binaurally presented sentences where the sentence-ending words were either semantically appropriate or inappropriate to the preceding sentence context. Half of the inappropriate final words shared two or three initial phonemes with the highly expected semantically appropriate words. Two temporally and functionally distinct response patterns were detected in the superior temporal lobe. The first response peaked at approximately 100 msec in the supratemporal plane and showed no sensitivity to the semantic appr…

More comprehensive proprioceptive stimulation of the hand amplifies its cortical processing

2021

Corticokinematic coherence (CKC) quantifies the phase coupling between limb kinematics and cortical neurophysiological signals reflecting proprioceptive feedback to the primary sensorimotor (SM1) cortex. We studied whether the CKC strength or cortical source location differs between proprioceptive stimulation (i.e., actuator-evoked movements) of right-hand digits (index, middle, ring, and little). Twenty-one volunteers participated in magnetoencephalography measurements during which three conditions were tested: 1) simultaneous stimulation of all four fingers at the same frequency, 2) stimulation of each finger separately at the same frequency, and 3) simultaneous stimulation of the fingers…

Automatic Processing of Changes in Facial Emotions in Dysphoria: A Magnetoencephalography Study

2018

It is not known to what extent the automatic encoding and change detection of peripherally presented facial emotion is altered in dysphoria. The negative bias in automatic face processing in particular has rarely been studied. We used magnetoencephalography (MEG) to record automatic brain responses to happy and sad faces in dysphoric (Beck’s Depression Inventory ≥ 13) and control participants. Stimuli were presented in a passive oddball condition, which allowed potential negative bias in dysphoria at different stages of face processing (M100, M170, and M300) and alterations of change detection (visual mismatch negativity, vMMN) to be investigated. The magnetic counterpart of the vMMN was el…

Brain Functional Effects of Psychopharmacological Treatment in Major Depression: A Focus on Neural Circuitry of Affective Processing

2015

In the last two decades, neuroimaging research has reached a much deeper understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings of major depression (MD) and has converged on functional alterations in limbic and prefrontal neural networks, which are mainly linked to altered emotional processing observed in MD patients. To date, a considerable number of studies have sought to investigate how these neural networks change with pharmacological antidepressant treatment. In the current review, we therefore discuss results from a) pharmacological functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies investigating the effects of selective serotonin or noradrenalin reuptake inhibitors on neural activation…

Difūzijas procesu parametru novērtēšanas metodes

2020

Fizisko personu saistību dzēšanas procedūras tiesiskās problēmas un to risinājumi

2016

Maģistra darbā „Fizisko personu saistību dzēšanas procedūras tiesiskās problēmas un to risinājumi”, autore, aplūkojot dažādus literatūras avotus un tiesu praksi, analizēja fizisko personu saistību dzēšanas institūta piemērošanas tendences, aktualitātes un to iespaidu uz turpmāko institūta attīstību un to nozīmi civiltiesiskajā apgrozībā vispār. Galvojuma mērķim ir prioritāte pār galvojuma akcesoritāti arī galvenā parādnieka (fiziskās personas) maksātnespējas gadījumā, pastāvot nosacījumam, ka parādnieks (fiziskās persona) izpilda saistību dzēšanas plānu maksātnespējas procesa ietvaros, tiek atbrīvots no parādsaistībām. Tiesību piemērotājam būtu nepieciešams vadīties pēc principa, ka katrs C…

Ļaunprātīga maksātnespēja, tās pazīmes un iespējamie risinājumi

2015
