Il presente lavoro ha l’obiettivo di tradurre, adattare e validare la versione italiana dell’Adolescent Family Process (AFP), strumento finalizzato a valutare la vicinanza genito-riale, il supporto, il monitoraggio, la comunicazione, il conflitto e l’approvazione dei pari. Le proprietà psicometriche dell’adattamento dell’AFP sono state indagate attraverso un campione non clinico di emerging adult italiani (n = 349). This article analyzes whether migrants’ distress factors are reduced, and life satisfaction increased by the sense of community and support from friendship or family networks, with age and length of residence serving as co-variables. Host country, gender, migration (economic/non-economic), employment (employed/unemployed) and legal status (regulated/unregulated) were all treated as moderating variables. This role is played in both the structural domain, prefrontal cortex area, and in the functional domain, involving the higher cognitive functions, including the executive functions (EF).
