En la presente tesis se demuestra por primera vez que tanto NT3 como su receptor TrkC se expresan en el tejido adiposo (AT) visceral humano, y en distintos tejidos adiposos blancos (WAT) y pardos (BAT) de roedores. La expresión de NT3 es menor en adipocitos que en los vasos sanguíneos que irrigan el tejido. La expresión de TrkC en los adipocitos es semejante a la de adrenoceptores beta (AR-β3), principales moduladores metabólicos del AT, lo que sugiere un papel funcional para la vía NT3/TrkC en adipocitos. Search for the double-beta decay of 82Se to the excited states of 82Kr with NEMO-3

The double-beta decay of 82Se to the 0+1 excited state of 82Kr has been studied with the NEMO-3 detector using 0.93 kg of enriched 82Se measured for 4.75 y, corresponding to an exposure of 4.42 kg y. A dedicated analysis to reconstruct the gamma-rays has been performed to search for events in the 2e2g channel. No evidence of a 2nbb decay to the 0+1 state has been observed and a limit of T2n 1/2(82Se; 0+gs -> 0+1) > 1.3 1021 y at 90% CL has been set. Concerning the 0nbb decay to the 0+1 state, a limit for this decay has been obtained with T0n 1/2(82Se; 0+g s -> 0+1) > 2.3 1022 y at 90% CL, independently from the 2nbb decay process. Abstract The topic of 24-hour management of COPD is related to day-to-night symptoms management, specific follow-up and patients’ adherence to therapy. Muon-capture strength functions in intermediate nuclei of 0νββ decays

Capture rates of ordinary muon capture (OMC) to the intermediate nuclei of neutrinoless double beta (0νββ) decays of current experimental interest are computed. The corresponding OMC (capture-rate) strength functions have been analyzed in terms of multipole decompositions. The computed low-energy OMC-rate distribution to 76 As is compared with the available data of Zinatulina et al. [Phys. Rev. C 99, 024327 (2019)]. The present OMC computations are performed using the Morita-Fujii formalism by extending the original formalism beyond the leading order. uvby{beta} photometry of h and chi Per

We present CCD uvby{beta} photometry for stars in the nuclei of the young double cluster {h} and {chi} Persei. We find that the reddening is highly variable through the {h} Per nucleus, increasing from west to east, with values ranging from E(b-y)=0.328+/-0.022 in the western part to E(b-y)=0.465+/-0.025 in the south-east. Towards {chi} Persei the reddening is fairly constant, with E(b-y)=0.398+/-0.025. Both clusters share a common distance modulus of 11.7+/-0.1mag, and an age of logt=7.10+/-0.05 years. Malignant neoplasms are among the most common diseases and are responsible for the majority of deaths in the developed world. In contrast to men, available data show a clear upward trend in the incidence of lung cancer in women, making it almost as prevalent as breast cancer. Women might be more susceptible to the carcinogenic effect of tobacco smoke than men. Furthermore, available data indicate a much more frequent mutation of the tumor suppressor gene-p53 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) female patients compared to males.
