Development of organizational trust among employees from a contextual perspective
2006
It is becoming increasingly accepted that trust in the workplace is an important factor which potentially leads to enhanced organizational performance and can be a source of competitive advantage in the long run (e.g. McAllister 1995, Whitener et al. 1998, Leana & van Buren III 1999, Wicks et al. 1999, Gould-Williams 2003). Although it may be unreasonable to expect that any firm can have boundless trust among employees, the starting point of this paper lies in the argument that organizational trust is more desirable from the viewpoint of the firm’s economic prosperity than its lack. Organizational trust is important for successful socialization, cooperation and effective teamworking (cf. Pu…
Precise vs General Feedback in Reducing Field-Dependence
1980
Summary.-To investigate the effect of feedback on performance of the Rod-and-frame Test the standard test procedure mas altered. The result of the alteration was a procedure which was called the Rod-and-frame Test as a Learning Task. On this task the subiect has to adjust the rod to the vertical twice in succession from each tilting position, whereby he is permitred a maximum of 10 trials in each tilting position and a range of tolerance of elo. After each trial the subject is given feedback about his performance. An experiment was conducted with 30 male and 30 female students to investigate whether a precise feedback giving both the direction and the degree of the rod's deviation from the …
Convergence Theorems for Varying Measures Under Convexity Conditions and Applications
2022
AbstractIn this paper, convergence theorems involving convex inequalities of Copson’s type (less restrictive than monotonicity assumptions) are given for varying measures, when imposing convexity conditions on the integrable functions or on the measures. Consequently, a continuous dependence result for a wide class of differential equations with many interesting applications, namely measure differential equations (including Stieltjes differential equations, generalized differential problems, impulsive differential equations with finitely or countably many impulses and also dynamic equations on time scales) is provided.
On dependence of sets of functions on the mean value of their elements
2009
The paper considers, for a given closed bounded set M ⊂ R m and K = (0,1) n ⊂ R n , the set M = {h ϵ L2 (K;R m ) | h(x) ϵ M a.e.x ϵ K} and its subsets It is shown that, if a sequence {hk } ⊂ coM converges to an element hk ϵ M(hk ) there is h‘k ϵ M(ho ) such that h'k - hk → 0 as k → ∞ . If, in addition, the set M is finite or M is the convex hull of a finite set of elements, then the multivalued mapping h → M(h) is lower semicontinuous on coM. First published online: 14 Oct 2010
Assessment of tobacco dependence curricula in Italian dental hygiene schools
2013
The aim of this study was to assess the level of tobacco dependence education offered by Italian dental hygiene programs. A fifty-question survey was mailed to the thirty-one active public and private dental hygiene programs in Italy during the 2008-09 academic year. The survey assessed faculty confidence in teaching tobacco treatment, which courses contained tobacco dependence content, the number of minutes spent on specific content areas, and the level of clinical competence that dental hygiene graduates should be able to demonstrate. Surveys were returned by sixteen programs for a response rate of 52 percent. Respondents indicated tobacco dependence education was included in clinic or cl…

Role of photoactive layer morphology in high fill factor all-polymer bulk heterojunction solar cells
2011
We report on the realization of all-polymer solar cells based on blends of poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT) as a donor and poly{[N,N'-bis(2-octyldodecyl)-naphthalene-1,4,5,8-bis(dicarboximide)-2,6-diyl]-alt-5,5'-(2,2'-bithiophene)} (P(NDI2OD-T2)) as an acceptor. High fill factors are demonstrated for the first time in this class of devices suggesting high dissociation efficiency for the bounded electron-hole pairs and balanced electron and hole mobility along the thin films. The use of the high-mobility n-type P(NDI2OD-T2) polymer enables us to overcome one of the problems limiting the efficiency of all-polymer solar cells, resulting in fill factors comparable with those reported for …
