Usi pubblici e politici di Dante Alighieri
2022
The commemorations of Dante Alighieri ‘s 700th death anniversary saw in 2021 a ‘national’ and even a ‘nationalist ‘ Dante cropping up once again in the Italian public discourse. Lingue e culture della montagna: le Madonie nell’esperienza dell’Atlante Linguistico della Sicilia (ALS)
2015
The cultural context of the Madonie — a hilly and mountainous territory near Palermo with about 60,000 inhabitants distributed in 22 little villages, some of which overlook the Tyrrhenian Sea — results from the influence of three external areas (those surrounding three of the most important towns in Sicily: Palermo, Caltanissetta, and Messina). L'Italia nella letteratura italiana. Una ricognizione
2011
Almost all italian literature regards national issue. Most of the canonic literary works evoke, name or generally relate to Italy: they indicate borders, illustrate orography, celebrate landscape; or, over time, they were used to "nationalise" imagery and to educate citizens, to describe their customs and presumed character. This is the reason why it would be impossible, if not pointless, to conduct a census of them. This essay illustrates the result of a less sweeping and more rigorous and circumscribed recognition to the topic "Italia" in the italian literary tradition and it describes some praticable distances and some directives of research beginnin from these traces
