Visioni apocalittiche in El cuerpo de Giulia-no di Jorge Eduardo Eielson

2013

Jorge Eduardo Eielson is a well-known poet and plastic artist, but his narrative works remain little-known, even in his native Peru. El cuerpo de Giulia-no is a discontinous and elusive text. Written in the 1950s but not published until 1971 in Mexico, it is an undoubtedly innovative work which thwarts the readers’s expectations with its fragmentary composition, elliptical tendencies, and the underlying dislogue amongst literature, visual arts and science running throughout the text. Like a typical Eislson work, it is a ‘chaotic’ text, which brings together the themes of the indigenist conflict and the Apocalypse emboded by the crisis of language with elements of meta-theatre and science fi…

Thinking Narratively. Between Novel-Essay and Narrative Essay

2022

What is the connection between philosophical enquiries and storytelling in contemporary narrative? Is it possible to outline some features of a so-called philosophical fiction in Western literature throughout the last two centuries? This book aims to provide a plural answer, hosting extensive essays by seven young researchers coming from different fields (Theory of literature, German, American, Russian and Italian contemporary literature, history and evolution of the essayistic form). A short The volume is addressed to all those with a strong interest in both evolution of philosophical speech and history of the novel and has a strong vocation to promote interdisciplinarity in literary studi…

Storiografie parallele. Cos'è la non-fiction?

2019

Bodies That Matter: Miniaturisation and the Origin(s) of ‘Art’

2020

Small things matter, especially in the so-called ‘arts’. From the visual arts to music and literature, ‘miniatures’ are a transcultural and transhistorical phenomenon that involves our aesthetic attitudes but also our everyday life, our emotional, social and cognitive life. Miniaturisation characterises our cognitive life and, of course, the ‘cognitive life of things’ that we produce, manipulate and discard. My paper is articulated into two sections: the first gives a quick overview of the miniatures of Homo sapiens, especially those of the paleolithic age, and a brief survey of the very challenging history of miniature-interpretation in twentieth-century philosophy of culture. In the secon…

Un’autobiografia in forma di curriculum. “Asterusher” di Michele Mari

2020

A recent expanded edition of the book Asterusher by Michele Mari (2015 and 2019) suggests some reflections on the completeness of autobiographical discourse. The composition of the autobiographical phototext, with a systematic tripartite form and inspired by the tradition of the emblem, is identical in the two versions. The addition of some pages has not changed the original structure of the volume but asks questions about the possibilities of revision and/or completion of an autobiographical narrative, about the possibilities of rewriting an autobiography in the form of a diary, almost like a “curriculum” with continuous updating.

Poesie di Chen Jingrong - Un piccolo omaggio

2010

Chen Jingrong is a woman poet who has strongly influenced the poetry of the contemporary poet Duo Duo. Having lived from 1917 until 1989, her work spans through the whole XX century. The paper presents her work with a special attention on translation problems. It focuses on an analysis of her poetry on the basis of the “translation shift” described by Cosima Bruno. Differently from Bruno, the analysis is made not on two texts, A language and B language texts, but rather on three texts. In this case, the one in Chinese of the original version, the one in English, the language of the first translation, and the one in Italian, the language of the second translation by G. Tamburello.
