The aim of this note is to point out a fallacy in the proof of Theorem 3.1 contained in the recent paper ( Int. J. Contemp. Math. Sci. 5 (2010), 2699-2707) proved in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces employing the newly introduced notion of sub-compatible pair of mappings wherein our claim is also substantiated with the aid of an appropriate example. We also rectify the erratic theorem in two ways.

Common Fixed Point of Generalized Contractive Type Mappings in Cone Metric Spaces

We obtain common fixed points and points of coincidence of a pair of mappings satisfying a generalized contractive type condition in cone metric spaces. Our results generalize some well-known recent results in the literature.

Recently, L. G. Huang and X. Zhang [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 332 (2007), no. 2, 1468–1476; MR2324351 (2008d:47111)] defined cone metric spaces by substituting an order normed space for the real numbers and proved some fixed point theorems. In this paper the authors prove a common fixed point theorem for four non-self-mappings in the framework of cone metric spaces. This result is an extension of a common fixed point theorem of Radenović and Rhoades for two non-self-mappings. The paper also contains some illustrative examples. A fixed point theorem for uniformly locally contractive mappings in a C-chainable cone rectangular metric space

Recently, Azam, Arshad and Beg [ Banach contraction principle on cone rectangular metric spaces, Appl. Anal. Discrete Math. 2009] introduced the notion of cone rectangular metric spaces by replacing the triangular inequality of a cone metric space by a rectangular inequality. In this paper, we introduce the notion of c-chainable cone rectangular metric space and we establish a fixed point theorem for uniformly locally contractive mappings in such spaces. An example is given to illustrate our obtained result.

(φ, ψ)-weak contractions in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces

The purpose of this paper is to extend the notion of (phi,psi)-weak contraction to intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces, by using an altering distance function. We obtain common fixed point results in intuitionistic fuzzy metric spaces, which generalize several known results from the literature.

Wardowski conditions to the coincidence problem

In this article we first discuss the existence and uniqueness of a solution for the coincidence problem: Find p ∈ X such that Tp = Sp, where X is a nonempty set, Y is a complete metric space, and T, S:X → Y are two mappings satisfying a Wardowski type condition of contractivity. Later on, we will state the convergence of the Picard-Juncgk iteration process to the above coincidence problem as well as a rate of convergence for this iteration scheme. Finally, we shall apply our results to study the existence and uniqueness of a solution as well as the convergence of the Picard-Juncgk iteration process toward the solution of a second order differential equation. Abstract In this paper we obtain fixed point and common fixed point theorems for self-mappings defined on a metric-type space, an ordered metric-type space or a normal cone metric space. Some new extensions of Edelstein-Suzuki-type fixed point theorem to G-metric and G-cone metric spaces

Abstract In this paper, we prove some fixed point theorems for generalized contractions in the setting of G -metric spaces. Our results extend a result of Edelstein [M. Edelstein, On fixed and periodic points under contractive mappings, J. London Math. Soc., 37 (1962), 74–79] and a result of Suzuki [T. Suzuki, A new type of fixed point theorem in metric spaces, Nonlinear Anal., 71 (2009), 5313–5317]. We prove, also, a fixed point theorem in the setting of G -cone metric spaces.
