Questo contributo propone un’analisi delle relazioni genitoriali poste in essere nelle famiglie italiane degli anni Cinquanta. Seguendo le suggestioni della recente Visual History, viene scelto il cinema come fonte cui attingere per ricostruire i rapporti tra madre e padre che, nel “decennio più lungo del secolo breve”, si avviavano ad una lenta ridefinizione. Il codice paterno, che il cinema neorealista descrive in tutta la sua problematicità, e il codice materno, che il melò consegna al pubblico nella sua ambiguità, sono descritti come due mondi separati che solo nel genere della commedia sembrano inaugurare una loro ricomposizione, se pur difficoltosa e solo abbozzata. Il contributo presenta un progetto di media education, incentrato sul genere cartone animato. L'intervento è stato rivolto agli alunni di 6 classi quarte primarie della Direzione Didattica “Giovanni Falcone” di Carini nell’a.s. 2006/2007, ha previsto la formazione di 8 docenti alla media education e ha verificato se, in un contesto educativo strutturato, si potesse far aumentare la consapevolezza nelle scelte dei cartoni animati da parte degli alunni e incrementare le conoscenze e la comprensione del linguaggio dei cartoni al punto da permettere la rielaborazione personale e creativa del messaggio stesso.

Il contributo focalizza l'attenzione su un media fortemente presente nella vita dei bambini: la televisione. Il lavoro dopo aver individuato i costrutti teorici relativi alla media literacy rileva la necessità di promuovere competenze mediali negli insegnanti perche possano adeguatamente valutare i programmi televisivi in modo da scegliere ciò che per i bambini è più idoneo e vantaggioso.

Ethnic prejudice, resilience, and perception of inclusion of immigrant pupils among Italian and Catalan teachers

In the current study we investigated the relationship between ethnic prejudice and resilience and the perception of inclusion of immigrant students among primary and middle school teachers in two different countries (Italy and Spain). Participants were 315 teachers: 75 Catalan women, 25 Catalan men, 202 Italian women, and 13 Italian men. Participants completed the Classical and Modern Racial Prejudice Scale, the Resilience Process Questionnaire, and an ad hoc questionnaire evaluating teachers’ perceptions about immigrant students and their inclusive education process.
