We here document an Iberian gold ring, which we have recently been able to study. It was found at some time between the late 1960s and mid-1980s, near Molata de Casa Vieja, one of the most important oppida in Alta Andalucía. The engraved bezel is of a schematic style, and derives from the iconic Iberian rider, ubiquitous on the pre–Roman coinage. It adds a new representation to this already rich corpus. The image of the rider was frequently used by the Iberian elite between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC. The ring is now par t of the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia. After the first report of grapevine decline caused by Botryosphaeriaceae in Sicily in 2007, epidemiological studies carried out in mature vineyards until 2011 confirmed the widespread occurrence of “Botryosphaeria dieback” and the “Esca complex” disease. Dieback symptoms were also recently observed in two young vineyards in Partanna and Castellammare del Golfo in western Sicily (Trapani province). Objectives Till date, mutations in the genes PAX3 and MITF have been described in Waardenburg syndrome (WS), which is clinically characterised by congenital hearing loss and pigmentation anomalies. Direct isolation of primary cells from tissues and organs allows for the maintenance of important cell characteristics and properties for in vitro studies and a plethora of biomedical applications.
