On modified α-ϕ-fuzzy contractive mappings and an application to integral equations

Abstract We introduce the notion of a modified α-ϕ-fuzzy contractive mapping and prove some results in fuzzy metric spaces for such kind of mappings. The theorems presented provide a generalization of some interesting results in the literature. Two examples and an application to integral equations are given to illustrate the usability of our theory.
ON SOME GENERALIZATION OF SMOOTHING PROBLEMS

The paper deals with the generalized smoothing problem in abstract Hilbert spaces. This generalized problem involves particular cases such as the interpolating problem, the smoothing problem with weights, the smoothing problem with obstacles, the problem on splines in convex sets and others. The theorem on the existence and characterization of a solution of the generalized problem is proved. It is shown how the theorem gives already known theorems in special cases as well as some new results.

Aspects regarding the existence of fixed points of the iterates of Stancu operators

In the papers Iterates of Stancu Operators, via Contraction Principle (2002), respectively Iterates of Bernstein Operators, via Contraction Principle (2004), author I. A. Rus studied the existence of fixed points for Stancu operators Pn,α,β and Bernstein operators Bn. The aim of this paper is to find conditions for which the Stancu operators Pn,α,β are contractions on the graph, in order to demonstrate that the contraction principle can be applied for the study of the existence of fixed points for iterates of Stancu operators. D3 Dihedral Logistic Map of Fractional Order

In this paper, the D3 dihedral logistic map of fractional order is introduced. The map presents a dihedral symmetry D3. It is numerically shown that the construction and interpretation of the bifurcation diagram versus the fractional order requires special attention. The system stability is determined and the problem of hidden attractors is analyzed. Furthermore, analytical and numerical results show that the chaotic attractor of integer order, with D3 symmetries, looses its symmetry in the fractional-order variant.

The purpose of this study is to seek special features in the Laestadian conviction when it functioned on the boundary of Eastern and Western cultures in Karelia. The contacts of Laestadianism in Karelia began in the end of the 1860s and beginning of 1870s. The mediators of the movement were mid-Osthrobothnian building workers and fisher-men. Cognitive predictors of counting skills

Rote counting skills have found to be a strong predictor of later arithmetic and reading fluency. However, knowledge of the underlying cognitive factors influencing counting skill is very limited. Present study examined to what extent language skills (phonology, vocabulary, and morphology), nonverbal reasoning skills, and memory at the age of five could explain counting skill at the beginning of first grade. Gender, parents’ education level and child’s persistence were included as control variables. The question was examined in a longitudinal sample (N = 101) with a structural equation model. Un esquema de codificación para el análisis de las resoluciones de los problemas de probabilidad condicional

En este trabajo proponemos un esquema de variables para el análisis de las resoluciones de los problemas de probabilidad condicional. Se consideran tres variables principales: las variables del enfoque, del proceso y del producto o resultado, las cuales describen aquello que el resolutor hace desde que lee el enunciado del problema hasta que produce un resultado. Estas tres variables principales pueden ser explicadas por medio de no menos de 15 variables secundarias, la mayoría de ellas dicotómicas.

Throughout this work the author carries out a study of the trajectory of Catalan drama from the end of the Civil War to present times. The analysis of problems relating to censorship, the lack of infrastructure, the dialectics of commercial versus alternative theatre, the successive appearances of new theatrical writers and groups, the dominating theatrical norms and the important support provided in recent years by public institutions presents a perfect scan of the issues Catalan drama has faced during the mentioned period.
