Rational and design of the European randomized Optical Coherence Tomography Optimized Bifurcation Event Reduction Trial (OCTOBER)

2018

Background Percutaneous coronary intervention in complex bifurcation lesions is prone to suboptimal implantation results and is associated with increased risk of subsequent clinical events. Angiographic ambiguity is high during bifurcation stenting, but it is unknown if procedural guidance by intravascular optical coherence tomography (OCT) improves clinical outcome. Methods and design OCTOBER is a randomized, investigator-initiated, multicenter trial aimed to show superiority of OCT-guided stent implantation compared to standard angiographic-guided implantation in bifurcation lesions. The primary outcome measure is a 2-year composite end point of cardiac death, target lesion myocardial inf…

The Innervation of Taste Buds in the Soft Palate and Circumvallate Papilla of the Rat as Revealed by the Zinc Iodide-Osmium Tetroxide Technique.

1998

The taste buds in the soft palate and the circumvallate papillae of the rat were investigated by the zinc iodide-osmium tetroxide technique. In addition, electron micrographs of taste buds stained with this method were presented for the first time. Differences in taste bud structures were found between the examined regions. The taste buds of the soft palate showed a complicated plexus of intragemmal nerve fibers. Some fibers exhibited terminal polymorphic swellings. Single branches could be traced close to the space of the taste pore. In the soft palate, the taste bud cells remained unstained, whereas in the circumvallate papillae of the tongue, a subpopulation of taste bud cells could be s…

Televisioformaatti ja kulttuurinen neuvottelu

2019

Postsurgical Paracicatricial Cutaneous Satellitosis of Giant Cell Tumour of Tendon Sheath, Localized Type.

2011

The tenosynovial giant cell tumour (localized type) is a tumour of tendon sheaths and interphalangeal joints, affecting the digits and arising from the synovium. It is characterized by a proliferation of mononuclear cells and osteoclast-like polykaryocytes. Its propagation to the skin is an exceptional event, which can take place either in localized form in the fingertips (localized type) or in the rare diffuse form called giant cell tumour of the tendon sheath, ( diffuse type ). We report here a case of giant cell tumour with cutaneous satellites, which appeared close to and around the surgical scar following the excision of the primary lesion, in a 9-year-old boy. In the cutaneous satelli…

Metalation and N-alkylation of some polyamides

1981

Totally N-substituted polyamides were synthesized starting from poly(2,4,4-trimethylhexamethylene terephthalamide) by metalation of the amide groups and subsequent reaction with several electrophiles. Polyamides of this structure are not available from terephthalic acid and the corresponding diamines by polycondensation. This N-alkylation reaction can be used for the synthesis of comb-like graft copolymers. The solubilitity and the thermal properties of these polyamide derivatives are described.

Bis(tert-butylammonium) oxalate

2006

The component species in the title compound, 2C4H12N2+·C2O42−, interact by way of N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a layered network. N and two C atoms of the cation possess site symmetry m and the C atom of the anion has site symmetry 2.

New propylamine oligopyrrole carboxamides linked to a heterocyclic or anthraquinone system: synthesis, DNA binding, topoisomerase I inhibition and cy…

2003

Continuing our studies on combilexines, compounds consisting of a DNA intercalator linked to a minor groove ligand, new results are presented. The synthesis of a series of new propylamine oligopyrrole carboxamides closely related to netropsin and distamycin A, linked to a heterocyclic or anthraquinone system is reported. The cytotoxic activity in vitro, the DNA binding characteristics and the inhibition of the topoisomerase I of the compounds were studied in order to explain the biological mechanism of action of these new potential combilexines. Some of the synthesised compounds showed cytotoxic activity against human tumour cell lines, as well as DNA binding and topoisomerase I inhibiting …

Evaluation of anti-androgenic activity of di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate

2005

International audience; DEHP is a widely used platiciser in the manufacture of PVC-based materials. It is known to disrupt the reproductive tract development in male rats. We have performed the Hershberger assay with DEHP on an immature castrated rat model to check if DEHP antagonise the testosterone propionate androgenic effect on the accessory sex organs development. DEHP significantly decreased the BC/LA muscles, the prostate, and the seminal vesicles relative weights from 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg bw/day, respectively. DEHP increased the liver relative weight from 100 mg/kg bw/day. A study was also performed on MDA-MB453 cell line stably transfected with pMMTVneo-Luc with DEHP and its maj…

Characteristics of haloethylene-induced acetonemia in rats.

1980

A series of halogenated ethylenes (vinyl chloride, vinylidene fluoride,cis- andtrans-1,2-dichloroethylene, perchloroethylene) induces increased acetone exhalation in rats. Exposures of differently pre-treated rats to vinylidene fluoride suggest that a metabolite of the haloethylene must be envolved in eliciting this formation of acetone. This conclusion is based on (a) dependence of acetone exhalation on the concentration of vinylidene fluoride, (b) effect of inducing agents, (c) effect of pyrazol, a metabolic inhibitor, (d) effect of cysteine, (e) effect of hypoxia and (f) the time course of acetone exhalation.

Synthesis, crystal structure, spectroscopic characterisation and magnetic properties of [Cu2(BIBM)2(C2O4)2]·4H2O (BIBM=bis(2-imidazolyl)bis(methoxyca…

2001

Abstract The structure and spectroscopic and magnetic properties of bis(μ-1,2,3-oxalato)bis[bis(2-imidazolyl)bis(methoxycarbonyl)methylmethane]dicopper(II) tetrahydrate are described. The compound is built of centrosymmetric neutral dimeric [Cu2(BIBM)2(C2O4)2] entities linked through hydrogen bonds involving water molecules and oxalate groups. In the dimeric unit the two centrosymmetrically related copper — which are involved in CuN2O2O2′ chromophores lying in an elongated octahedral environment — are bridged through the oxalate group which acts in a bidentate–monodentate (μ-1,2,3) fashion. Both electronic and EPR spectra are indicative of an essentially dx2−y2 ground state for the copper(I…
