Influence of hydrogen cations on kinetics and equilibria of heavy-metal sorption by algae—sorption of copper cations by the alga Palmaria palmata (Li…
2013
The influence of hydrogen cations on kinetics and equilibria of sorption of copper cations by the marine alga Palmaria palmata (Linnaeus) Weber & Mohr was studied under static conditions. The competitive effect of the H+ cations is described, which influenced the uncertainty of evaluation of the alga sorption capacity. Under static conditions, the variation of the Cu2+/H+ concentration ratio during sorption was found nonmonotonic. The Langmuir isotherm model was used to determine the sorption capacity of the alga, namely 12.4 mg g−1 of dry algae mass. A similar value was determined from the kinetic parameters of the ionic exchange which is considered a pseudo-second-order chemical reaction.…
Interference Estimation in IEEE 802.11 Networks
2010
This article describes a technique for distinguishing and quantifying medium access control (MAC) and physical layer (PHY) interference in error-prone 802.11 networks. This technique, is fully distributed, allowing each station to estimate interference individually. The estimator is based on an extended Kalman filter coupled to a mechanism for revealing abrupt changes in state. The network state is a vector of two components, representing PHY interference, expressed in terms of channel-error rate, and MAC interference. Two distinct state models are considered. When PHY interference can be assumed to be constant for all stations, network congestion is expressed by the number of competing ter…
Inference of Spatiotemporal Processes over Graphs via Kernel Kriged Kalman Filtering
2018
Inference of space-time signals evolving over graphs emerges naturally in a number of network science related applications. A frequently encountered challenge pertains to reconstructing such dynamic processes given their values over a subset of vertices and time instants. The present paper develops a graph-aware kernel-based kriged Kalman filtering approach that leverages the spatio-temporal dynamics to allow for efficient online reconstruction, while also coping with dynamically evolving network topologies. Laplacian kernels are employed to perform kriging over the graph when spatial second-order statistics are unknown, as is often the case. Numerical tests with synthetic and real data ill…

RECUPERO A FINI AGRONOMICI DI SUOLI PALUDOSO-SALMASTRI DELLA MARISMA DI LEBRIJA (SPAGNA)
2007

Optimization of Delayed-State Kalman-Filter-based Algorithm via Differential Evolution for Sensorless Control of Induction Motors
2010
This paper proposes the employment of the differential evolution (DE) to offline optimize the covariance matrices of a new reduced delayed-state Kalman-filter (DSKF)-based algorithm which estimates the stator-flux linkage components, in the stationary reference frame, to realize sensorless control of induction motors (IMs). The DSKF-based algorithm uses the derivatives of the stator-flux components as mathematical model and the stator-voltage equations as observation model so that only a vector of four variables has to be offline optimized. Numerical results, carried out using a low-speed training test, show that the proposed DE-based approach is very promising and clearly outperforms a cla…
Heterogeneity of volatile sources along the Halmahera arc, Indonesia
2021
co-auteur étranger; International audience; The parallel Halmahera and Sangihe arcs in eastern Indonesia are sites of active arc-arc collision of considerable interest in developing understanding of the geodynamics and geochemistry of subduction zones. Owing to the comparative remoteness of the region, few ground-based studies of the volcanoes have been undertaken. Here, we report and integrate gas measurements and (isotope) geochemical analyses of lava samples for Dukono, Ibu, Gamkonora, Gamalama, and Makian volcanoes of the Halmahera arc. Summing gas fluxes for all five volcanoes indicates arcscale emission budgets for H 2 O, CO 2 , SO 2 , H 2 S, and H 2 of 96300±27000, 2093±450, 944±400,…
