Este estudio tiene como objetivo conocer la relación entre diferentes variables demográficas y el bienestar y satisfacción con la vida, y evaluar la capacidad predictora de la satisfacción con la vida en una muestra de personas mayores que participan en el Programa Universitario para Personas Mayores de la Universidad de Valencia. La OMS define envejecimiento activo y sano como el proceso de optimizar oportunidades para la salud y la participación. Validez del modelo de los cuatro estilos parentales para el estudio de la socialización de los hijos españoles en diferentes entornos y contextos

En el presente estudio de tesis doctoral se analizó si las relaciones entre los estilos parentales de socialización (es decir, indulgente autorizativo, autoritario y negligente) con la competencia y el ajuste de los hijos eran iguales para hijos agresivos y no agresivos. Asimismo, se consideró el momento evolutivo de los hijos distinguiendo aquellos que estaban siendo socializados por sus padres (adolescentes) de aquellos que ya habían sido socializado por sus padres, es decir, hijos adultos (jóvenes adultos). El presente artículo ofrece una panorámica aproximativa de la educación a lo largo de la vida desde un punto de vista descriptivo y desde un punto de vista analítico. En una primera parte se presentan algunas lógicas o dimensiones sociales desde la perspectiva de la educación a lo largo de la vida. En una segunda parte se expone un marco de las políticas de educación a lo largo de la vida, distinguiendo entre el ámbito de la educación de personas adultas y su ampliación y desarrollo ulterior en interrelación con la educación a lo largo de la vida. Development and validation of the Short Professional Quality of Life Scale based on versions IV and V of the Professional Quality of Life Scale

Background This research presents a short version of the Professional Quality of Life (ProQOL) scale, one of the most frequently used questionnaires in the arena of applied healthcare investigation. It measures burnout (BO), compassion fatigue (CF), and compassion satisfaction (CS). Methods A 9-item version of the ProQOL was developed. In Study 1, this short version, which used items from version IV of the ProQOL, was administered to 817 palliative care professionals from Spain, Argentina, and Brazil. Pooled analysis of who surgical safety checklist use and mortality after emergency laparotomy

Background The World Health Organization (WHO) Surgical Safety Checklist has fostered safe practice for 10 years, yet its place in emergency surgery has not been assessed on a global scale. The aim of this study was to evaluate reported checklist use in emergency settings and examine the relationship with perioperative mortality in patients who had emergency laparotomy.
