Solvent-dependent hypsochromic shift in the imidazole based complex [Cu(µ2-SO4)(Im)4] and ameliorative effects on breast cancer-induced bone metastas…
2023
A sulfate-bridged complex [Cu(µ2-SO4)(Im)4] (1) was prepared and structurally characterized, where Im: imidazole. The X-ray structure analysis reveals that 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group C2/c. The octahedral coordination around the metal center is made up of four distinct imine nitrogen atoms in the equatorial plane, and two sulfate oxygen atoms occupying the axial sites. The covalent linkage between metals via the sulfate group, forming infinite 1D zigzag chains, ensures the entanglement of the structure. These chains, in turn, are further assembled into a 2D network through N-H...O hydrogen bonding. Thermal analyses underline the high thermal stability of our com…
Self-assembly of new cobalt complexes based on [Co(SCN)4], synthesis, empirical, antioxidant activity, and quantum theory investigations
2022
The cobalt (II) complexes have been synthesized from the reaction of the cationic entities (3,4-dimethylaniline (1) and histamine (2)) with metallic salt CoCl2⋅6H2O and thiocyanate ion (SCN−) as a ligand in H2O/ethanolic solution and processing by the evaporation crystal growth method at room temperature to get crystals. The synthesized complex has been fully characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. UV–Visible, FTIR spectroscopy, TGA analysis, and DFT circulations were also performed. The crystal structural analysis reveals that the solid (1) {[Co(SCN)4] (C8H12N)3}·Cl crystallizes in the monoclinic system with the space group P21/n and the solid (2) {[Co(SCN)4](C5H11N3)2}·2Cl crys…
Neuromuscular, hormonal and oxidative stress responses to endurance running exercises in well-trained runners
2007
The aim of this study was to investigate to which type of running exercises well trained endurance runners respond more favourably with regard to acute neuromuscular and endocrinological responses and exercise-induced oxidative stress. It was hypothesized that these responses depend on the type of running exercise and relate to the physical characteristics. Altogether nine different running exercises and a long walking exercise were performed by a total of 88 male athletes. An intermittent exercise consisting of progressive 20 s runs decreased vertical jump performance in middle distance runners (MID), but improved it in marathon runners (MAR). An 18 – 24 min exhaustive test run, a 40 min i…
Polymeerien lisäaineet ja lisäaineantioksidanttien kemialliset määritysmenetelmät
2017
Muovien käyttö on lisääntynyt runsaasti viimeisten vuosikymmenten ajan valmistus- ja työstöprosessien sekä lisäaineiden kehityksen myötä. Nykyaikaisten korkealaatuisten muovituotteiden valmistuksessa käytetään lukuisia erilaisia lisäaineita, joiden avulla pystytään vaikuttamaan esimerkiksi muovien pintaominaisuuksiin sekä pidentämään niiden käyttöikää. Käyttöikään vaikuttavat oleellisesti hapen aiheuttamat reaktiot polymeerirakenteessa ja näiden ei-haluttujen reaktioiden rajoittamiseksi on kehitetty erilaisia stabilointiaineita, kuten antioksidantteja. Muovien sisältämät lukuisat lisäaineet voivat reagoida keskenään aiheuttaen synergisiä tai antagonisia vaikutuksia, jolloin tiettyjen lisäai…
Enzyme-assisted extraction of anthocyanins and other phenolic compounds from blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum L.) press cake: From processing to bioactivit…
2022
The effects of commercial enzymes (pectinases, cellulases, beta-1-3-glucanases, and pectin lyases) on the recovery of anthocyanins and polyphenols from blackcurrant press cake were studied considering two solid:solvent ratios (1:10 and 1:4 w/v). β-glucanase enabled the recovery of the highest total phenolic content – 1142 mg/100 g, and the extraction of anthocyanins was similar using all enzymes (∼400 mg/100 g). The use of cellulases and pectinases enhanced the extraction of antioxidants (DPPH − 1080 mg/100 g; CUPRAC – 3697 mg/100 g). The freeze-dried extracts presented antioxidant potential (CUPRAC, DPPH), which was associated with their biological effects in different systems: antiviral a…
