Reaktionen bei der Bestrahlung von poly(N-chloramid)en

1980

On irradiating poly(N-chloroamide)s in films or in solution in the range of 325–375 nm carboxamide groups are formed. The irradiated polymer contains chlorine which is linked to C-atoms. This reaction can certainly not be explained with an intramolecular photorearrangement but with a sequence of photoreactions and dark reactions satisfactorily accounting for all observations.

Lewis Acid-Catalyzed Stereoselection on Carbohydrate Templates

1989

The chirality and the complexing abilities of carbohydrates are utilized for chemical stereoselection in different reactions. In this sense, the carbohydrates are investigated as the chiral auxiliaries in alkylation reactions and in Michael additions of ester enolates. Furthermore, carbohydrates are demonstrated to be efficient chiral matrices in Lewis acid-catalyzed Diels-Alder reactions. They also effect stereoselection in a new synthesis of β-branched carboxylic acid derivatives. O-Acylated glycosylamines are shown to be potent chiral templates in the Strecker synthesis and in the Ugi four-component condensation to give α-amino acid derivatives in high yield and diastereoselectivity. Hydrophobicity of Ionizable Compounds. A Theoretical Study and Measurements of Diuretic Octanol−Water Partition Coefficients by Countercurrent Chroma…

1999

Countercurrent chromatography was used to determine the octanol−water partition coefficients (Po/w) of 23 diuretic drugs. The measured Po/w values ranged over 4 orders of magnitude from 0.05 to 550 (−1.3 < log Po/w < +2.7). All the compounds, except spironolactone, were ionizable. The Po/w values were strongly depending on the aqueous-phase pH. A theoretical model linking these values with the pH was derived for four cases:  (i) molecular acid−anionic base, (ii) cationic acid−molecular base, (iii) biprotic systems with two acidic or basic groups showing the same charge sign, and (iv) biprotic systems with ionizable groups showing different charges with special attention to the amino acid ca…

Influence of the pH on the behavior of an imprinted polymeric stationary phase--supporting evidence for a binding site model.

2001

The equilibrium isotherms of the two enantiomers of phenylalanine anilide (PA) were measured by conventional frontal analysis at three different pH on a thermally-treated imprinted stationary phase selective for the L enantiomer. The first of these pH (buffer pH=3.0, pH(app)=4.0) is well below the apparent pKa (6.4) of the two solutes, the second (buffer pH=5.8, pH(app)=7.0) slightly below this pKa, and the third (buffer pH=7.0, pH(app)=8.3) well above it. The experimental data were fitted to several isotherm models. The best estimates of the parameters of these models are reported and discussed. The corresponding isotherms are compared with the experimental ones. The contributions of the e…

Discontinuous electrokinetic chromatography of parabens using different substituted resonances as pseudostationary phases

1999

Resorcarene derivatives, negatively charged even at moderate pH, were synthesized and employed as pseudostationary phases to achieve mobilities exceeding that of the electroosmotic flow. Under these conditions, a discontinuous electrolyte system was developed which allows the separation of four uncharged homologous 4-hydroxybenzoic esters (parabens) within a zone of resorcarene electrolyte, and the detection of these UV active compounds in a resorcarene-free zone, free from the high UV background absorbance of the resorcarenes. Resorcarenes, with differently charged functionalities (carboxylate and phosphate groups) to provide the electrophoretic mobility and with alkyl residues of differen…

Simultaneous gas chromatographic determination of aliphatic C2−C20 n-carboxylic acids and their methyl esters using SE-30 and OV-351 quartz capillary…

1983

Simultaneous determination of aliphatic C2−C20 carboxylic acids and their methyl esters was carried out using SE-30 and OV-351 quartz capillary columns with temperature programming. Complete resolution of all 36 components was achieved. On SE-30 the methyl ester and the corresponding free acid are eluted in turn, whereas on OV-351 acetic acid eluted after methyl octanoate, after which the Cn methyl ester and Cn-6 carboxylic acid (n>9) are eluted one after the other. A non-polar SE-30 column is better for long-chain acids giving sharp peaks without tailing, the analysis time of the mixture being less than 16 minutes. The weight response correction factors for compounds under optimum operatin…

Isolation From Human Calcium Oxalate Renal Stones of Nephrocalcin, a Glycoprotein Inhibitor of Calcium Oxalate Crystal Growth. Evidence That Nephroca…

1987

We have determined that the organic matrix of calcium oxalate kidney stones contains a glycoprotein inhibitor ofcalcium oxalate crystal growth (nephrocalcin) that resembles nephrocalcin present in the urine of patients with calcium oxalate stones and differs from nephrocalcin from the urine of normal people. Pulverized calcium oxalate renal stones were extracted with 0.05M EDTA, pH 8.0; nephrocalcin eluted in five peaks using DEAE-cellulose column chromatography, and each peak was further resolved by Sephacryl S-200 column chromatography. Four ofthe fiveDEAE peaks corresponded to those usually found in nephrocalcin from urine; the fifth eluted at a lower ionic strength than any found in uri…

Isolation and characterization of a chlorogenic acid esterase from Aspergillus niger.

1980

Abstract The isolation and characterization of a specific chlorogenic acid esterase is described. The enzyme activity is measured by determination of the hydrolysis product caffeic acid. The enzyme had been concentrated by means of ultrafiltration and column-chromatography. The pH- and temperature optimum were 6.5 and 45 °C respectively. Divalent cations were not required for the enzyme activity. As other esterases, this enzyme is inhibited by di-isopropyl-phosphorofluoridate. The Km-value is 0.70 mᴍ chlorogenic acid, the molecular weight 240000. The described enzyme is specific for chlorogenic acid. On the other hand a typical unspecific esterase like the pig liver esterases does not split…

Inhibitors of endogenous proteinases in the seeds of Scots pine, Pinus sylvestris

1980

Extracts of resting pine seeds inhibited the proteinase activities present in extracts of endosperms of germinating seeds (hydrolysis of haemoglobin at pH 3.7 and hydrolysis of casein at pH 5.4 and 7.0). Heating the extracts of resting seeds at 60°C destroyed their own proteinase activity but their proteinase inhibitor activity decreased by only 25 to 30%. Some properties of the inhibitor(s) were studied using extracts treated at 60°C. The inhibitor activities were non-dialysable. the inhibition increased linearly with increasing inhibitor concentration up to 80% of total proteinase activity, and the maximal inhibition was 80% at pH 3.7. 90% at pH 5.4. and 97% at pH 7.0. The extracts of res…

Structure and Photochemical Behavior of the Cyclodextrin Inclusion Complexes of the Benzoylthiophene-Derived Drugs Tiaprofenic Acid (=5-Benzoyl-α-met…

2001

The effect of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) on the excited-state reactivity of the two benzoylthiophene derivatives, tiaprofenic acid (TPA; 2) and suprofen (SPF; 3) in their carboxylate forms is studied. The presence of β-cyclodextrin does not affect the nature of the photoproduced transients and the photoproducts, but increases the photodegradation quantum yields of both drugs. The efficiency of the photodecarboxylation process is enhanced. This effect is rationalized in the light of the inclusion of 2 and 3 in the β-CD cavity, affecting the energy of the lowest excited states of the drugs. The structure of the complexes is determined by induced circular dichroism, and molecular-mechanics and dyna…
