Synthesis of β-methylfurolabdanes from (+)-sclareolide

An efficient synthesis of the methylfurolabdane 3 from (+)-sclareolide (6) via the hydroxyalkenes 12 is reported. Alternative modes of cyclization of 12 allowed the synthesis of methyldihydrofuran derivatives 4 and 5 and methyltetrahydrofuran derivatives 15. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. For this reason, without claiming a comprehensive approach, through this article we try to give answer to questions such as: What is undeclared work and how it is manifested in Romania? What is the level of undeclared work in Romania? What are the main causes of undeclared work? What measures can be taken to prevent, detect and stop undeclared work? What is the experience of other countries to combat undeclared work?
Halloysite Nanotubes for Cleaning, Consolidation and Protection

Herein, we report our recent research concerning the development of halloysite based protocols for cleaning, consolidation and protection purposes. Surface modification of halloysite cavity by anionic surfactants was explored to fabricate inorganic micelles able to solubilize hydrophobic contaminants. Hybrid dispersions based on halloysite and ecocompatible polymers were tested as consolidants for paper and waterlogged archaeological woods. Encapsulation of deacidifying and flame retardant agents within the halloysite lumen was conducted with aim to obtain nanofiller with a long-term protection ability. Clary sage is a biennial native to Mediterranean area, spontaneous and often ubiquitous in many environments of inner Sicily. The large white-pinkish flowers are used, besides for ornamental purposes, for extracting a strongly-scented essential oil largely used by perfume industries. This work has been carried out with the aim to observe over several years the behaviour of a Sicilian Clary sage biotype, grown on experimental plots laid out in Sparacia (Cammarata - AG - Sicily). The paper attempts to answer this question by proposing a re-interpretation of flexicurity through the comparison with the economic concepts of externalities and distortion of competition.
