Si riportano i risultati della verifica sperimentale, condotta in centrifuga geotecnica, sul carico limite, qlim, di fondazioni superficiali poggianti su terreni contenenti un sottile strato orizzontale di bassa resistenza a taglio. La presenza dello straterello influisce fortemente sul meccanismo di rottura del complesso fondazione-terreno e sul valore di qlim. Il qlim si riduce significativamente rispetto al caso di terreno omogeneo in funzione della posizione e della resistenza dello strato e la curva che descrive la variazione di qlim con la profondità dello strato presenta un minimo a tutte le accelerazioni esplorate. In response to the growing consumer demand for fresh cheese in summer, this investigation was aimed to evaluate the chemical and microbiological characteristics of sheep’s milk and cheese produced in Sicily in the hot summer months. A total of 810 bulk milk samples collected from 17 farms rearing ewes of the Valle del Belice breed were analysed for chemical composition, somatic cell count, total bacterial count and clotting parameters. A study of the Cope rearrangement of 15-oxo-germacranolides to 15-oxo-elemanolides has been carried out. The synthesis of two natural elemanolides, isolated from Centaurea paui, and an efficent isomerization of the C-4/C-5 double bond of 15-oxo-germacranolides to form heliangolides are reported. Nanocomposite, an innovative route to large structure and infrastructure protection. A case of study: CNT-doped polyurea

<p>In this work we focus on experimental studies of polymer-nanocomposites intended for passive protection of civil structures. The material consists of a polyurea-matrix enhanced by different quantities of multiwalled carbon nanotubes. Several tensile and cyclic tests are performed to evaluate and characterize the mechanical behaviour of this new material. Furthermore, we subject the material to accelerated thermal aging and study its performance deterioration which is fairly unknown. The results on the unaged specimens are intuitive and indicate that an arbitrary amount of CNTs may result in suboptimal performance.
