The Patres ecclesiae?s works were a frequent topic of discussion at the time in which many humanists stood against the decadent medieval scholastics. That Juan Luis Vives was part of this tradition is demonstrated in his commentaries on Saint Augustine works. Despite its pedagogical function, the scholia of the Valencian author became quite subjective. In this sense, his ecdotic work or, specially, his «criticisms and censures» can be mentioned. Here, Vives strongly disapproves of the intense political and intellectual turmoil of his epoch. The pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) for teaching mitosis at university isan unexplored field. We report the characterization of university teachers’ PCK on mitosisemploying the Content Representation questionnaire (CoRe) and Professional and Pedagogicalexperience Repertoire (PaP-eR). The differences found in the teachers’ CDC are consistent withthe characteristics of this construct: it is specific to a topic, a teacher and a context. The use of soil water retention curve models in analyzing slope stability in differently structured soils

Abstract This study analyzes whether and at what rate the parameterization of the Soil Water Retention Curve (SWRC) affects the analysis of shallow slope stability for differently structured unsaturated soils. Advanced empirical or physically-based equations of SWRCs have been proposed in literature to describe soil systems characterized by the so-called bimodal porous domain. In unsaturated soils, SWRC affects the stability assessment in two ways.
