In this paper, we highlight and resolve the shortcomings of single-input single-output (SISO) millimeter wave (mm-Wave) radar systems for human activity recognition (HAR). A 2×2 distributed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar framework is presented to capture human activity signatures under realistic conditions in indoor environments. We propose to distribute the two pairs of collocated transmitter–receiver antennas in order to illuminate the indoor environment from different perspectives. The continuing decline of many natural plant and animal populations emphasizes the importance of conservation strategies. Hybridization as a management tool has proven successful in introducing gene flow to small, inbred populations, but can be also associated with health risks. Stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijas un depresijas simptomi pieaugušajiem ar vecāku alkoholisma pieredzi

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādas atšķirības pastāv starp stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju izmantošanu un depresijas simptomiem pieaugušajiem ar dažādu vecāku alkoholisma pieredzi un pieaugušajiem bez vecāku alkoholisma pieredzes. Kā arī pētījumā tika noskaidrots tas, vai pastāv saistības starp stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju izmantošanu un depresijas simptomiem grupās ar tēva, mātes, abu vecāku un bez vecāku alkoholisma pieredzes. Pētījumā piedalījās 104 respondenti. A Dataset of Annotated Omnidirectional Videos for Distancing Applications

Omnidirectional (or 360°) cameras are acquisition devices that, in the next few years, could have a big impact on video surveillance applications, research, and industry, as they can record a spherical view of a whole environment from every perspective. This paper presents two new contributions to the research community: the CVIP360 dataset, an annotated dataset of 360° videos for distancing applications, and a new method to estimate the distances of objects in a scene from a single 360° image. Decentralized Deployment of Mobile Sensors for Optimal Connected Sensing Coverage

In this paper, we address the optimal connected sensing coverage problem, i.e., how mobile sensors with limited sensing capabilities can cooperatively adjust their locations so as to maximize the extension of the covered area while avoiding any internal “holes”, areas that are not covered by any sensor. Our solution consists in a distributed motion algorithm that is based on an original extension of the Voronoi tessellation.
