“If I knew, I will not come”: strategic insight on the simultaneous launch of the two Guerre des BoutonsThe purpose of this paper is to propose an insight on an unusual strategic situation in the movie industry: thesimultaneous launch on screens of two almost identical movies, La Guerre des Boutons. After recalling the stakesattached to the product launch in the film industry, a monograph devoted to this direct confrontation, supplementedby an analysis of the critics of spectators, is proposed. This analysis reveals determinants (the conflictand lack of control in the film industry) and consequences (sub-optimal strategy) of the temporal agglomeration.

The acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity has been studied in 4-day post-fertilization juveniles of Ciona intestinalis exposed to tributyltin (TBT) at 10-5 M using the histochemical method of Karnovsky and Roots. Relative to vertebrate tissues and organs, the development of adult form of ascidians is interesting, because the analysis of many nuclear genes indicated that the ascidians are the closest living relatives of the vertebrates. The methamphetamine molecule has a chiral center and exists as 2 enantiomers, d-methamphetamine (the more active enantiomer) and l-methamphetamine (the less active enantiomer). d-Methamphetamine is associated with more intense stimulant effects and higher abuse liability. The “green” electrochemical synthesis of periodate

Abstract High‐grade periodate is relatively expensive, but is required for many sensitive applications such as the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients. These high costs originate from using lead dioxide anodes in contemporary electrochemical methods and from expensive starting materials. A direct and cost‐efficient electrochemical synthesis of periodate from iodide, which is less costly and relies on a readily available starting material, is reported. The oxidation is conducted at boron‐doped diamond anodes, which are durable, metal‐free, and nontoxic. The avoidance of lead dioxide ultimately lowers the cost of purification and quality assurance.
