Robust Redundant Input Reliable Tracking Control for Omnidirectional Rehabilitative Training Walker
2014
Published version of an article in the journal: Mathematical Problems in Engineering. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2014/636934 The problem of robust reliable tracking control on the omnidirectional rehabilitative training walker is examined. The new nonlinear redundant input method is proposed when one wheel actuator fault occurs. The aim of the study is to design an asymptotically stable controller that can guarantee the safety of the user and ensure tracking on a training path planned by a physical therapist. The redundant degrees of freedom safety control and the asymptotically zero state detectable concept of the walker are presented, the model of redu…
Modal Analysis of Multi-Degrees-of-Freedom Systems with Singular Matrices: Analytical Dynamics Approach
2017
Complex mechanical (e.g., multibody) systems with different types of constraints are generally performed through analytical dynamics methods. In some cases, however, it is possible that the (augmented) mass and/or stiffness matrices may derive to be singular; consequently, modal analysis, which is used extensively in the classical dynamics literature, fails. In this paper, if the uniqueness condition is satisfied by the constraints, a properly modified modal analysis is elucidated into analytical dynamics leading to the evaluation of the natural frequencies in a simple and straightforward way. Under that framework, advances of both classical and analytical dynamics are taken into considerat…
Velocity sensorless control of a PMSM actuator directly driven an uncertain two-mass system using RKF tuned with an evolutionary algorithm
2010
This paper proposes a solution to tune an observer keeping robust closed loop performances for the sensorless motion control of an uncertain mechanical load directly driven by a PMSM through a flexible axis. An evolutionary algorithm optimizes the observers degrees of freedom. Experiments show that performances are effectively maintained.
Characterizing normal Sylow p-subgroups by character degrees
2012
Abstract Suppose that G is a finite group, let p be a prime and let P ∈ Syl p ( G ) . We prove that P is normal in G if and only if all the irreducible constituents of the permutation character ( 1 P ) G have degree not divisible by p.
Finite groups with real-valued irreducible characters of prime degree
2008
Abstract In this paper we describe the structure of finite groups whose real-valued nonlinear irreducible characters have all prime degree. The more general situation in which the real-valued irreducible characters of a finite group have all squarefree degree is also considered.
Focal waveforms with tunable carrier frequency using dispersive aperturing
2008
We introduce the concept of dispersive aperturing involving a beam truncation by hard-edge apertures where diameter of the processed beam changes upon frequency. Applied to focused waves, this procedure transforms power spectra at the focal point (and the surroundings). Waveforms at focus conserve pulse duration but carrier frequency may be altered substantially. In principle, some degrees of freedom allow carrier-frequency tuning at convenience.
DsixTools 2.0: The Effective Field Theory Toolkit
2021
$\tt DsixTools$ is a Mathematica package for the handling of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) and the Low-energy Effective Field Theory (LEFT) with operators up to dimension six, both at the algebraic and numerical level. $\tt DsixTools$ contains a visually accessible and operationally convenient repository of all operators and parameters of the SMEFT and the LEFT. This repository also provides information concerning symmetry categories and number of degrees of freedom, and routines that allow to implement this information on global expressions (such as decay amplitudes and cross-sections). $\tt DsixTools$ also performs weak basis transformations, and implements the full on…
Geodesically complete BTZ-type solutions of $2+1$ Born-Infeld gravity
2016
We study Born-Infeld gravity coupled to a static, nonrotating electric field in $2+1$ dimensions and find exact analytical solutions. Two families of such solutions represent geodesically complete, and hence nonsingular, spacetimes. Another family represents a point-like charge with a singularity at the center. Despite the absence of rotation, these solutions resemble the charged, rotating BTZ solution of General Relativity but with a richer structure in terms of horizons. The nonsingular character of the first two families turn out to be attached to the emergence of a wormhole structure on their innermost region. This seems to be a generic prediction of extensions of General Relativity for…
