In Chapter 1, we have analyzed the structure of pip-spaces from the algebraic point of view only, (i.e., the compatibility relation). Here we will discuss primarily the topological structure given by the partial inner product itself. The aim is to tighten the definitions so as to eliminate as many pathologies as possible. The picture that emerges is reassuringly simple: Only two types of pip-spaces seem sufficiently regular to have any practical use, namely lattices of Hilbert spaces (LHS) or Banach spaces (LBS), that we have introduced briefly in the Introduction. Multiparametric Rational Solutions of Order N to the KPI Equation and the Explicit Case of Order 3

We present multiparametric rational solutions to the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation (KPI). These solutions of order N depend on 2N − 2 real parameters. Explicit expressions of the solutions at order 3 are given. They can be expressed as a quotient of a polynomial of degree 2N(N +1)−2 in x, y and t by a polynomial of degree 2N(N +1) in x, y and t, depending on 2N − 2 real parameters. We study the patterns of their modulus in the (x,y) plane for different values of time t and parameters.
Uncertainty analysis and symmetry restoration in nuclear self-consistent methods

This thesis contains two articles, in the following denoted by I and II, and an introduction to them. In Chapter 1, I present the theoretical models of nuclear structure. In Chapter 2, I introduce the basic ideas about the density functional theory (DFT) and self-consistent mean-field (SCMF) calculations. In Chapter 3, I give the formulae for the uncertainty propagation, which is the error analysis method used in article I. As a proper tool to survey the predictive power of theoretical models, the error analysis now has become more and more widely used. Hadronic light-by-light contribution to $(g-2)_\mu$ from lattice QCD with SU(3) flavor symmetry

We perform a lattice QCD calculation of the hadronic light-by-light contribution to $(g-2)_\mu$ at the SU(3) flavor-symmetric point $m_\pi=m_K\simeq 420\,$MeV. The representation used is based on coordinate-space perturbation theory, with all QED elements of the relevant Feynman diagrams implemented in continuum, infinite Euclidean space. As a consequence, the effect of using finite lattices to evaluate the QCD four-point function of the electromagnetic current is exponentially suppressed. Thanks to the SU(3)-flavor symmetry, only two topologies of diagrams contribute, the fully connected and the leading disconnected. Przedstawiono znaczenie, rozwój metod otrzymywania, kierunki zastosowania i perspektywy rozwoju poliolefin (polietylenu i polipropylenu), materiałów dominujących w światowej produkcji i zużyciu tworzyw sztucznych. Scharakteryzowano oddziaływania tych polimerów na środowisko, kolejno w etapie ich wytwarzania, wykorzystywania i utylizacji odpadów poużytkowych. Scharakteryzowano także kierunki badań prowadzonych w Instytucie Chemii Uniwersytetu Opolskiego w zakresie syntezy, charakterystyki, a przede wszystkim temo- i fotooksydacyjnej degradacji oraz starzenia atmosferycznego poliolefin.

σ1 and/or σ2 receptors play a crucial role in pathological conditions such as pain, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer. A set of spirocyclic cyclohexanes with diverse O-heterocycles and amino moieties (general structure III) was prepared and pharmacologically evaluated. In structure-activity relationships studies, the σ1 receptor affinity and σ1:σ2 selectivity were correlated with the stereochemistry, the kind and substitution pattern of the O-heterocycle, and the substituents at the exocyclic amino moiety. cis-configured 2-benzopyran cis-11b bearing a methoxy group and a tertiary cyclohexylmethylamino moiety showed the highest σ1 affinity ( Ki = 1.9 nM) of this series of compounds. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin erään yrityksen vuosikertomuksen tekstin rakennetta. Tutkimuksen teoreettisena pohjana toimi M. A. K Hallidayn kehittämä systeemi- eli systeemis-funktionaalinen kielioppi, jonka määrittelemät eri prosessityypit toimivat lähemmän tarkastelun kohteena. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, mitä prosessityyppejä tekstistä on löydettävissä ja kuinka usein nämä esiintyvät aineistossa. Saatuja tuloksia verrattiin erääseen aikaisemmin ilmestyneeseen samankaltaiseen tutkimukseen. Aineistona tutkimuksessa käytettiin tekstiotteita ranskalaisen Arkema-nimisen yrityksen vuoden 2010 vuosikertomuksesta, tarkemmin sen ympäristöä käsittelevästä osiosta.
