Blutspuren von 160 Nabelvenenblutproben wurden elektrophoretisch nach der von Wraxall beschriebenen Technik aufgetrennt und konnten gut drei Monate lang nach Lagerung bei Zimmertemperatur von Erwachsenenblutspuren unterschieden werden. Unterschiedliche Spurentrager (Glas, Holz, Filterpapier und Leinen) hatten keinen nennenswerten Einflus auf die Darstellung.

We have isolated and characterized a cDNA encoding a major cuticle protein in Tenebrio molitor, named ACP-20. The deduced amino acid sequence is roughly tripartite, with two terminal glycine-rich domains and a central region showing pronounced similarities with some other hard cuticle proteins. Abstract The combination of electrophoretic and immunological analysis has demonstrated a powerful method for the study of subcellular components. Rat liver mitochondria seem to be composed of at least 12 components, either anodic or cathodic. Detergents have been used to dissolve mitochondria. The electrophoretic behaviour of complexes among such agents and mitochondria proteins is described. The treatment of mitochondria with deoxycholate between 0.1-0.5 per cent final concentration showed that some antigens are progressively brought into solution by such treatment, while others are firmly bound to the mitochondrial membranes. A specific CE-MS method was developed for the simultaneous determination of 12 antibacterial residues (four sulfonamides: sulfamethazine, sulfathiazole, sulfadiazine, and sulfachlorpyridazine; four beta-lactams: amoxicillin, ampicillin, oxacillin, and penicillin V, and four quinolones: danofloxacin, enrofloxacin, ofloxacin, and flumequine) in fish and livestock. Paracentrotus lividus embryos, at post-blastular stage, when subjected to a rise in temperature from physiologic (20 degrees C) to 31 degrees C, synthesize a large group of heat shock proteins (hsps), and show a severe inhibition of bulk protein synthesis. We show, by mono- and two-dimensional electrophoresis, that also EGTA (ethylene glycol-bis[beta-aminoethyl ether] tetraacetic acid) treatment induces in sea urchin embryos both marked inhibition of bulk protein synthesis and the synthesis of the entire set of hsps. Cadmium is a heavy metal toxic for living organisms even at low concentrations. It does not have any biological role, and since it is a permanent metal ion, it is accumulated by many organisms. In the present paper we have studied the apoptotic effects of continuous exposure to subacute/sublethal cadmium concentrations on a model system: Paracentrotus lividus embryos. We demonstrated, by atomic absorption spectrometry, that the intracellular amount of metal increased during exposure time. We found, using terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling assay, that long treatments with cadmium triggered a severe DNA fragmentation. Nine coordination compounds of Cu(II) and Co(II) with Ciprofloxacin (HCp) and Enoxacin (HEx) as ligands have been prepared and characterized. Single crystal structural determinations of [Cu(HCp)2(ClO4)2].6H2O (1) and [Co(HEx)2(Ex)]Cl.2CH(3)OH.12H2O (4) are reported. The crystal of 1 is composed of [Cu(HCp)2(ClO4)2] units with the two perchlorate anions semicoordinated, and uncoordinated water molecules. The copper ion, at a crystallographic inversion centre, is in a tetragonally distorted octahedral environment.
