Corneal backscatter in insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus patients: a pilot study
2017
ABSTRACT Purpose: To compare central corneal backscatter obtained from Scheimpflug images between patients with insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM and NIDDM, respectively) and healthy controls. Methods: Seven patients with IDDM (7 eyes), eleven patients with NIDDM (11 eyes), and sixteen healthy subjects (16 eyes) were included in this pilot study. Scheimpflug imaging system (Pentacam, Oculus Inc., Germany) was used to obtain optical sections of the cornea. Seven meridians were analyzed for each eye, oriented from 70° to 110°. Optical density values for the central 3-mm and 5-mm zones of the cornea were obtained by image analysis using external software. Resu…
Example of accommodative response to a stationary stimulus
2017
The video in shows the data recorded for a single trial of an experiment with a stationary stimulus and both optical-blur condition and target-blur condition. Reconstructions of the Maltese cross with both conditions are also shown.
Corneoscleral contact lenses fitting on irregular corneas after laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis
2018
ABSTRACT Purpose: We aimed to describe the outcomes of corneoscleral contact lens fitting with multi-aspherical geometry designs in patients with irregular corneas after laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). Methods: This was a retrospective series of 18 patients (age, 26-38 years) selected from an eye clinic database. Participants were required to have unsatisfactory visual acuity with their current contact lenses or spectacles after LASIK for myopia correction. All patients were fitted with corneoscleral contact lenses designed to correct corneal surface irregularities. A diagnostic trial set was used for fitting, and assessments were performed according to a standardized methodo…
Additional file 1 of An initial comparative map of copy number variations in the goat (Capra hircus) genome
2021
Additional file 1:List of CNVs identified in the analysed goats. The Excel file reports the chromosome, the nucleotides position of the CNV start and end (referred to the Btau_4.0 genome assembly), the size of the CNV in bp, the number of valid probes in the CNV (additional probes are included in CNV considering the position between two contiguous regions without 0.175 log2 value; see Methods for the definition of CNV), log2 mean of the probes in the CNV (see Methods), the type of CNV (gain/loss), the goat sample (C = Camosciata delle Alpi; G = Girgentana; MG = Murciano-Granadina; S = Saanaen; numbers after the breed symbols indicate the different animals used in the aCGH experiment), and t…
Example of accommodative response to a sinusoidal stimulus
2017
The video in shows the data recorded for a single trial of an experiment with a sinusoidally moving stimulus at 0.2 Hz and both optical-blur condition and target-blur condition. Reconstructions of the Maltese cross with both conditions are also shown.
Example of accommodative response to a step stimulus
2017
The video in shows the data recorded for a single trial of an experiment with a step stimulus and both optical-blur condition and target-blur condition. Reconstructions of the Maltese cross with both conditions are also shown.

Glaucomatous Maculopathy: Thickness Differences on Inner and Outer Macular Layers between Ocular Hypertension and Early Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma U…
2020
The purpose of this study was to compare the thickness of all inner and outer macular layers between ocular hypertension (OHT) and early primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) 8 × 8 posterior pole algorithm (8 × 8 PPA). Fifty-seven eyes of 57 OHT individuals and fifty-seven eyes of 57 early POAG patients were included. The thickness of macular retinal nerve fiber layer (mRNFL), ganglion cell layer (GCL), inner plexiform layer (IPL), inner nuclear layer (INL), outer plexiform and nuclear layer, photoreceptor layer (PRL) and retinal pigment epithelium were obtained in 64 cells for each macular layer and mean thickness of superior and inf…
