Il sincronismo tra le battaglie di Himera e Salamina è stato codificato dalla storiografia antica con l’intento di unificare la Grecità, metropolitana e occidentale, nella comune celebrazione della vittoria contro il barbaro: un nome che accomuna indistintamente Cartaginesi e Persiani. Le due vittorie vennero interpretate tout court come un trionfo della civiltà sulla barbarie. We characterize which 3-dimensional Seifert manifolds admit transitive partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms. In particular, a circle bundle over a higher-genus surface admits a transitive partially hyperbolic diffeomorphism if and only if it admits an Anosov flow.

The Peace Treaty of Fredrikshamn and its Aftermath in Sweden and Finland

This article analyses the Peace Treaty of Fredrikshamn (Hamina in Finnish) and its consequences in Sweden and Finland. The Russians set strict preconditions for the commencement of peace negotiations with the Swedes in the summer of 1809. These conditions were realized almost <em>in toto</em> in the final peace treaty, which consisted of just twenty-one articles. In addition to regulations directly related to the ending of hostilities, the main provisions of the agreement entailed huge territorial losses for Sweden, strictly defining the regions it was to cede to Russia, the most important of which was Finland. DECORIN EFFECTS ON PROTEOMIC PROFILING OF BREAST CANCER CELLS: AN UPDATED STUDY

The malignant carcinomas are characterized by several capabilities acquired by the neoplastic cells, among which the ability to invade the extracellular matrix (ECM) and to establish a crosstalk with several ECM components. Under this respect, the extracellular microenvironment is an entity extraordinarily rich of information with opposite signals. Our group has long undertaken the study of the effects of ECM molecules on the behavior of cancer cells in vitro. Among the studied molecules, the decorin was found to exert a non-permissive effect on the growth and motility of the transfected tumor cells. Our group has long undertaken the study of the effects of ECM molecules on the behavior of cancer cells in vitro. Among the studied molecules the decorin was found to exert a non-permissive effect on the growth and motility of the transfected tumor cells. The decorin belongs to the family of small leucine-rich proteoglycans (SLRP) and is involved physiologically in the fibrillogenesis of collagen. In the last few year a new anti-oncogenic role has been proposed for decorin1. This study aimed to implement the knowledge on the effects of ectopic decorin on breast cancer cells using as a reference point the results already achieved by our research group2 on the experimental model format. By breast cancer cell line 8701-BC and its transfected clone DEC-C2. The extension of the proteomic analysis combined with the mass spectrometry allowed to triplicate the number of identified proteins in our model. Among the newly identified proteins were members of the classes of metabolic enzymes S100 family and cell motility proteins which revealed a net decrease in the decorin transfected cells. Of considerable importance is the observation that these classes of proteins are the most involved in metastatic progression. These results confirm and reinforce the anti-oncogenic role hypothesized for decorin. The work was co-funded by the Italian 5x1000 to COBS.DECORIN

UT503VDP::Social science: 200::Sociology: 220En polarisert og betent debatt preger tematikken omkring det store antallet mennesker som søker seg til Europa og til Norge på flukt fra krig og fattigdom. Den største flyktningekrisen siden den 2. verdenskrig har bidratt til å bringe den politiske opinionen i Europa stadig lengre mot det populistiske og nasjonalistiske høyre der vinklingene i all hovedsak handler om utfordringene og problemene som flyktningene bringer med seg. I det som er blitt betegnet som et kappløp mot bunnen har de europeiske statene igangsatt et svarteperspill der det kappes om å gjøre seg minst mulig attraktive for flyktningene. Midt i denne krisen er barna de mest sårbare av alle. Hver enkelt av dem har rett til beskyttelse i henhold til Barnekonvensjonen. Flyktningekrisen påvirker opinion også i Norge og hvordan majoritetsbefolkningen tar i mot de som er innvilget opphold her i landet. Migrasjonsforskningen er og har vært preget av de store fortellingene der innvandring ses i sammenheng med landets utvikling generelt. Graden av suksess eller fiasko blir ofte målt ved å se på flyktningenes tilpasningsevne til statlige og sosiale rammer. I denne oppgaven vil fokus ligge på de små fortellingene; enslige unge flyktningers egne erfaringer i møte med et nytt land. Med utgangspunkt i de unges forhold til organiserte fritidsaktiviteter ønsker jeg å belyse deres egenforståelse av hva som hemmer og fremmer deres integreringsprosess i Norge.
