In-gas laser ionization and spectroscopy of actinium isotopes near the N=126 closed shell

The in-gas laser ionization and spectroscopy (IGLIS) techniquewas applied on the $^{212–215}$Ac isotopes, produced at the Leuven Isotope Separator On-Line (LISOL) facility by using the in-gas-cell and the in-gas-jet methods. The first application under on-line conditions of the in-gas-jet laser spectroscopy method showed a superior performance in terms of selectivity, spectral resolution, and efficiency in comparison with the in-gas-cell method. Three-dimensional skyrmions in spin-2 Bose–Einstein condensates

We introduce topologically stable three-dimensional skyrmions in the cyclic and biaxial nematic phases of a spin-2 Bose-Einstein condensate. These skyrmions exhibit exceptionally high mapping degrees resulting from the versatile symmetries of the corresponding order parameters. We show how these structures can be created in existing experimental setups and study their temporal evolution and lifetime by numerically solving the three-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equations for realistic parameter values. Tēmas aktualitāte: Kuņģa vēzis ir ļaundabīgs kuņģa epitēlija audzējs ar mazsimptomātisku strauju augšanu, vispārīgu izplatību un sliktu prognozi. Latvijā saslimšana ar kuņģa vēzi vīriešiem ir trešajā, bet sievietēm ceturtajā vietā starp audzējiem. (1) Kuņģa vēža diagnozes primāri iereģistrēto gadījumu skaits Latvijā uz 2017. gadu sastādīja 524 iedzīvotājus, no kuriem vīrieši ir 291 un sievietes – 233. Introduction: Breast carcinoma is the most common malignancy in women and the main cause of tumor deaths. Despite early recognition by screening and improvement in treatment regimens, many patients will eventually develop metastases, either locoregional recurrences or distant metastases, most frequently in the skeleton, liver and lung. Metastases to the gastrointestinal tract are infrequent and not even mentioned in the major oncologic textbooks.
