An investigation of Facebook users' implicit associations between Facebook, sexual and prosocial behavior.

Abstract Despite growing research on online social networking, implicit associations of Facebook users have been largely understudied. In Study 1, we used the Single-Target Implicit Association Test (ST-IAT; Karpinski and Steinman, 2006) in order to assess implicit associations between Facebook and two evolutionary relevant constructs: sexual and prosocial behavior. Additionally, we controlled for the role of participant's relationship status as a potential moderator of Facebook implicit associations. We examined the effects of spatial frequency similarity and dissimilarity on human contour integration under various conditions of uncertainty. Participants performed a temporal 2AFC contour detection task. Spatial frequency jitter up to 3.0 octaves was applied either to background elements, or to contour and background elements, or to none of both. Results converge on four major findings. Evidence for Myosin VIIa-Driven Transport of Rhodopsin in the Plasma Membrane of the Photoreceptor-Connecting Cilium

Defects in the gene encoding for the unconventional myosin VIIa leads to human Usher syndrome 1B, the most common form of hereditary combined blindness and deafness. To determine cellular function of myosin VIIa, we have investigated the subcellular localization of myosin VIIa in spacial relation relationship to potentially interacting proteins in mammalian photoreceptor cells. Cooperation and cultural transmission in a coordination game

Abstract The aim of this paper is to analyze if cooperation can be the product of cultural evolution in a two-stage coordination game, consisting of a production stage followed by a negotiation phase. We present an overlapping generations model with cultural transmission of preferences where the distribution of preferences in the population and the strategies are determined endogenously and simultaneously. There are several groups in the society; some of them play cooperatively and others do not. Divergent distribution of cytoglobin and neuroglobin in the murine eye

Neuroglobin (Ngb) and cytoglobin (Cygb) are two vertebrate globins with yet poorly defined functions. Previous studies had demonstrated a high expression level of neuroglobin in the mammalian retina, being in line with a respiratory function. Here we show that in the mouse eye, cytoglobin is localised in fibroblasts of the ciliary processes and the choroidea. In the neuronal retina, cytoglobin is expressed in a subset of neurons of the ganglion cell and inner nuclear layers.
