Somehuomion jäljillä : käyttäjien reagointi journalistisiin sisältöihin Ilta-Sanomien ja Helsingin Sanomien Facebook-sivuilla
2016
Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää yhteisöpalvelu Facebookin käyttäjien reagointia suomenkielisiin journalistisiin sisältöihin. Tutkimusaihe on tärkeä, sillä ihmiset päätyvät yhä useammin journalististen sisältöjen äärelle sosiaalisen median palveluiden kautta. Tutkimus toteutettiin analysoimalla Ilta-Sanomien ja Helsingin Sanomien Facebook-sivuilta kerättyä data-aineistoa. Aineistossa oli kaikki medioiden julkaisemat Facebook-päivitykset syyskuulta 2015. Aineiston avulla oli mahdollista tarkastella muun muassa päivitysten keräämiä tykkäyksiä, kommen…

As scientists seek optimal visibility for their work and wish their results to be published in journals with high circulation, it is important to know which are the leading journals within each scientific area. This paper contains a bibliometric study of scientific journals in the areas of Social Sciences and Humanities that are currently published in Spain, together with information concerning their production and circulation in the different national and international bibliographical data bases, publishe…
An assessment of the differences between spatial resolution and grid size for the SMAP enhanced soil moisture product over homogeneous sites
2018
Abstract Satellite-based passive microwave remote sensing typically involves a scanning antenna that makes measurements at irregularly spaced locations. These locations can change on a day to day basis. Soil moisture products derived from satellite-based passive microwave remote sensing are usually resampled to a fixed Earth grid that facilitates their use in applications. In many cases the grid size is finer than the actual spatial resolution of the observation, and often this difference is not well understood by the user. Here, this issue was examined for the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) enhanced version of the passive-based soil moisture product, which has a grid size of 9-km and …

Transforming adult education from neo-liberal to holistically inclusive adult education in Baltic States
2021
In this chapter, we explore the data of nation-wide adult education programmes in three Baltic states. These programmes incorporate informal learning elements from the perspective of active participatory citizenship (APC) and, therefore, this provision aims to enhance opportunities for young adults in vulnerable positions. We posit that the concept of active participatory citizenship (EduMAP Concept Note 2017) that aims at developing young adults’ politico-legal, socio-cultural and socio-economic proactiveness could be used for illustrating these educational programmes from the holistic education aspects (Jarvis and Parker 2005). Holistic approach to adult education (AE) denotes that knowle…
