Suomen alkuperäisestä 10,4 miljoonan hehtaarin suoalasta yli puolet on ojitettu metsä- ja maatalouden sekä turvetuotannon tarpeisiin. Etelä-Suomessa ojitus on ollut voimakkainta: keskimäärin noin 75 prosenttia ja monin paikoin vielä suurempi osa soista on ojitettu. Suot ovat Euroopan luontotyypeistä kaikkein uhanalaisin luontotyyppiryhmä ja Suomella on erityisvastuu soiden suojelusta. Kaikkiaan 54 prosenttia Suomen 50 suoluontotyypistä on uhanalaisia ja lisäksi 20 prosenttia on silmällä-pidettäviä. This book has sought to gender men in Europe by drawing on various sources of information and in relation to key themes and policy arenas. In this final chapter, we consider some broad issues concerning the position and impact of men in the context of changing configurations of Europe, including, but not only, in relation to the EU. There are many ways in which the more explicit gendering of men raises new sets of questions about the EU and the changing definitions of ‘Europe’.

Mentalization-based Families First Group Intervention for First-Time Parents: Parents’ Perspective

The study investigated, first, the benefits reported by first-time parents after attending a Families First mentalization-based group intervention and, second, looked for indicators of mentalization. A total of 367 mothers and 183 fathers completed a web-based questionnaire. Data analysis concentrated on parents’ responses to seven open questions that were subsequently processed by qualitative thematic analysis. Also a chi-square test was performed to study the differences between mothers and fathers on the benefits reported. Developing a stable personal identity is considered a more precarious task in today’s society than hitherto. Skilful digital engagement may, however, constitute a valuable asset in necessary identity exploration and commitment. Se trata a la vez de un terrorismo separatista y de un conflicto armado. Sin embargo, la solución del problema por la vía política y pacífica parece ser más eficaz que por la represión e imposición estricta de las leyes penales excepcionales. Este artículo analiza el papel de de las instituciones políticas sobre la distribución de recursos en procesos de negociación política. Para ello, recurrimos a la metodología experimental y estudiamos 3 instituciones políticas diferentes en el laboratorio, con el fin de determinar los resultados (desde el punto de vista del bienestar y de la igualdad) de la democracia y la participación directa en las instituciones.
