The Samjiyon Orchestra as a North Korean Means for Gender Based Cultural Diplomacy

In 2018 it appeared that a peace process on the Korean Peninsula had got underway. Lots of publicity was produced on inter-Korean relations and many types of messages and diplomatic actors started to move across the border with South Korea. One important element in this process was cultural diplomacy, conducted partly by athletes and cheering squads during the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games, and partly by musical ensembles. Selection of the Samjiyon Orchestra for the Pyeongchang events sheds light on the kind of image the North Korean leadership wanted to display of the country on the international stage. PGM1 and AK phenotypes were determined in samples from Korea and Ireland. the frequencies of PGM 1 1 genes amount to 0.916 in Koreans and 0.864 in Irish. AK1 frequencies come to 0.933 in Koreans and 0.873 in Irish.

Abstract Background: the genomes of human Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) display several levels of DNA sequence heterogeneity and subgrouping that show distinctive clustering patterns in related human populations. The four major subtype patterns for the hypervariable ORF-K1 protein correlate closely with the principal diasporas resulting from the migration of modern humans out of East Africa and suggest that KSHV is an ancient human virus that is transmitted primarily in a familial fashion with consequent very low recombination rates. Pirmajā daļā tiek aplūkoti hallju pirmsākumi, kas aizsākās Ķīnā un pēc tam Japānā. Otrajā daļā tiek aplūkota hallju otrā fāze jeb neo-hallju, kuras galvenais Dienvidkorejas eksporta veicinātājs bija Korejas popmūzika, zināma arī kā K-pop. This study aims to examine a well-known inscription (IG XII.5, 225) dated to the mid-fifth century BC and found in Paroikia, near the acropolis of the ancient polis of Paros. It shows a typical formula of access limitation to local cults: according to most scholars, the cult in question is to be identified with the worship of Kore Astos (the Citizen), who is mentioned in the second line. The Dorians are excluded from this cult, as is shown by the expression (xenoi Dorie) appearing at the beginning of the text in a very relevant position. AIM To analyse in vitro changes in ion release and biological properties of Endocem-MTA (Maruchi, Wonju, Korea) and NeoMTA-Plus (Avalon Biomed Inc, Bradenton, FL, USA) exposed to acidic or neutral environment on human dental periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs). METHODOLOGY Cell viability and wound healing assays were performed using eluates of each material. Cell death and changes in phenotype induced by the set endodontic sealer eluates were evaluated through flow cytometry. Šī pētījuma ietvaros tika pētītas kādas Latvijas bankas darbinieku emocionālā intelekta un tā apakšskalu saistība ar izdegšanu. Līdz ar to, pētījuma mērķis bija atbildēt uz pētījuma jautājumiem par to, kādas saistības pastāv starp emocionālā intelekta, tā apakšskalu rādītājiem un izdegšanas dimensijām. Kā arī tika pētīts tas, kādas atšķirības emocionālā intelekta un izdegšanas rezultātos ir darbiniekiem, kas ikdienā strādā un tiem, kas ikdienā nestrādā ar klientiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 105 respondenti, no kuriem 50 darbinieki bija tādi, kas ikdienā strādā ar klientiem (37 siev. un 13 vīr.). Respondentu vecums no 21 līdz 61.
