Freeze-out radii extracted from three-pion cumulants in pp, p–Pb and Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC

In high-energy collisions, the spatio-temporal size of the particle production region can be measured using the Bose-Einstein correlations of identical bosons at low relative momentum. The source radii are typically extracted using two-pion correlations, and characterize the system at the last stage of interaction, called kinetic freeze-out. In low-multiplicity collisions, unlike in high-multiplicity collisions, two-pion correlations are substantially altered by background correlations, e.g. mini-jets. We question the effectiveness of the two learning methods to acquire scientific knowledge and to modify learner conceptions. Do explicit instruction and structured inquiry methods have the same impact on the learning of science? Artykuł podejmuje próbę interpretacji przebiegu i rezultatów dialogu luterańsko-rzymskokatolickiego jako wzajemnego odkrycia, że konfesyjnie uwarunkowane dziedzictwo doktryny i wiary jest wyrazem „katolickości” Kościoła. W tym celu dokonano najpierw syntetycznej analizy pojęcia katolickości w perspektywie historycznej i ekumenicznej oraz odniesiono się do problemu konfesjonalizacji chrześcijaństwa. Proces ten nastąpił zwłaszcza w okresie poreformacyjnym i skutkował zawężeniem ujęć chrześcijańskiej doktryny w podzielonych Kościołach oraz utratą ich zdolności do akceptacji „katolickiej” wielości i różnorodności. Se abordan aquí tres aspectos relativos a la Ley española de eutanasia, promulgada el 24 de marzo de 2021, que resultan especialmente problemáticos: la falsa configuración de la eutanasia como un ?derecho subjetivo?, el falso protagonismo de la autonomía del sujeto y la calificación de la eutanasia como ?muerte natural?. Se sostiene la tesis de que la ley solo ha despenalizado el delito eutanásico cuando se realiza de acuerdo con los requisitos legales; de que no existe un derecho a la muerte y por tanto no es la voluntad del solicitante la que determina la prestación eutanásica y las repercusiones que se producirán en diversos ámbitos por la calificación de muerte natural.

In this chapter we are analyzing how literacy is conceptualized within education – more specifically within adult second language education in Denmark and Finland. Language and literacy are generally described as highly important for societal growth, coherence and democracy in statements from governments and international agencies. However, in our research literacy appears as a more complex and contradictory resource that is increasingly used as a demarcation line for inclusion and exclusion in the ever more globalised national states. peerReviewed
