Global current account imbalances and intra-euro area imbalances have been at the forefront of academic and policy debates for the last ten years. This thesis examines the determinants of current account balances and external adjustment. It consists of an introduction and four empirical studies. This thesis highlights the importance of institutional factors such as differences in national cultures and cross-country differences in the coordination of wage bargaining on external balances. La calpaína 2 pertenece a una familia de Cys-proteasas pleiotrópicas que no son consideradas como un sistema degradativo, sino que “procesan” sus sustratos. La sobreexpresión de las calpaínas se ha relacionado con mal pronóstico en varios tipos de cáncer, incluyendo el cáncer colorrectal. Sin embargo, los mecanismos de reconocimiento de sustrato, de regulación/desregulación y las funciones específicas en el cáncer colorrectal permanecen sin resolver. En el tejido pulpar dental, entre las diversas poblaciones celulares que lo forman, encontramos células madre de origen ectomesenquimático. Actualmente estas células se denominan DPSC (dental pulp stem cells o células madre de la pulpa dental). The article follows, at first in general terms, the depiction of the motive of death and dying in literature and culture, including the transformation of the attitude of man towards death in the context of time. It emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of the subject and mentions relevant professional literature. The study then examines the psychoanalytic concepts of Eros and Thanatos, the instincts of life and death that emerge from the prose of Jakuba Katalpa and make her work original. It also notes the concept of “female writing” and deconstructivism and reveals the specific artistic features of her novels. A synthesis of deimatic behaviour

Deimatic behaviours, also referred to as startle behaviours, are used against predators and rivals. Although many are spectacular, their proximate and ultimate causes remain unclear. In this review we aim to synthesise what is known about deimatic behaviour and identify knowledge gaps. We propose a working hypothesis for deimatic behaviour, and discuss the available evidence for the evolution, ontogeny, causation, and survival value of deimatic behaviour using Tinbergen's Four Questions as a framework. Our overarching aim is to direct future research by suggesting ways to address the most pressing questions in this field. peerReviewed

Deguna objektīvās izmeklēšanas metožu attīstīšana jo projām ir aktuāls temats. Rinomanometriju var uzskatīt par deguna ventilācijas funkcijas objektīvās novērtēšanas standarta tehniku. Pētījums veikts, lai paplašinātu četru fāžu rinomanometrijas mērījumu pielietojumu un potenciāli dotu ieguvumu funkcionālas deguna izmeklēšanas attīstībā. Materiāli un metodes: Tika veikts šķērsgriezuma pētījums, kurā izmantotie materiāli ir skaitliskie dati no aktīvās, priekšējās rinomanometrijas mērījumu datu bāzes, kas veidota Vācijā, Berlīnē “Parkklinik-Berlin Weissensee” slimnīcā.
