Currently, there are no reliable parameters to predict a patient's response to immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy. With more than 3300 new cases and almost 2500 deaths each year, cervical cancer (CC) ranks second among female cancers in Moroccan women. The majority of cases occurs in women aged 50 and over. In absence of a national cancer registry, data published in Morocco are limited to the number of cases recorded in some oncology centers, so the incidence of this cancer is likely much higher than estimated. A Moroccan national program against CC based on the practice of visual inspection after application of acetic acid was set up in 2010, allowing both screening and possibly immediate treatment of (pre)cancerous lesions. The RBFOX1 gene (or A2BP1) encodes a splicing factor important for neuronal development that has been related to autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental phenotypes. Evidence from complementary sources suggests that this gene contributes to aggressive behavior. Suggestive associations with RBFOX1 have been identified in genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of anger, conduct disorder, and aggressive behavior. Nominal association signals in RBFOX1 were also found in an epigenome-wide association study (EWAS) of aggressive behavior. Neuroligin-4 (Nlgn4) is a cell adhesion protein that regulates synapse organization and function. Mutations in human NLGN4 are among the causes of autism spectrum disorders. In mouse, Nlgn4 knockout (KO) perturbs GABAergic synaptic transmission and oscillatory activity in hippocampus, and causes social interaction deficits. Bacterial EVs have been related to inter-kingdom communication between probiotic/pathogenic bacteria and their hosts. Our aim was to investigate the transcytosis process of B. subtilis EVs using an in vitro intestinal epithelial cell model. In this study, using Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy, we report that uptake and internalization of CFSE-labeled B. subtilis EVs (115 nm ± 27 nm) by Caco-2 cells are time-dependent.
