The diversity of people, cultures and social situations in Latin America countries does not obstruct the critical and honest dialogue concerning the research carried out on the learning of world problems. Geography, as a science, can contribute to this challenge, but it needs, then, to leave the intellectual, corporate and academic obstacles that prevent its study by the pupils. In this work we communicate the initiatives developed by a group of teachers by means of the Geoforo, which takes advantage of the facilities of the cyberspace, from the Geocrítica portal of the University of Barcelona.

SCOPO DEL LAVORO Presentiamo un caso di una paziente di 24 anni che giunge alla nostra attenzione per la comparsa di disartria come quadro clinico d’esordio di una forma aggressiva di malattia demielinizzante di cui si valuta l’atipica evoluzione neuroradiologica delle lesioni pseudotumorali che la caratterizzano e le possibili diagnosi differenziali. MATERIALI E METODI La paziente dopo una prima valutazione in PS è stata sottoposta a TC encefalo, ricoverata presso l’U.O. di Neurologia, sottoposta a controlli RM seriati (anche con tecniche avanzate); durante la degenza è stata inoltre effettuata una biopsia stereotassica. SCOPO DEL LAVORO: presentiamo un caso di Sclerosi Tuberosa (Tuberous sclerosis complex, TSC; anche nota come Sindrome di Bourneville-Pringle) diagnosticato tardivamente grazie al sospetto posto dalle indagini neuroradiologiche eseguite in una paziente di 40 anni con in anamnesi ritardo mentale, crisi epilettiche e disturbi del visus.MATERIALI E METODI: la paziente si presenza alla nostra attenzione per un episodio di disorientamento e confusione mentale; dopo una prima valutazione in PS veniva eseguita una TC dell’encefalo in tecnica sequenziale (Siemens SOMATON AS+, 128 strati) e trasferita presso l’U.O.C. di Neurologia. According to Italian Essential Levels of Assistance (ELA), a colonoscopy is strongly recommended after a positive fecal occult blood test (FOBT) due to its effectiveness in early colorectal cancer detection. Despite the evidence, the Palermo province population (Italy), after a positive FOBT, have a lower colonoscopy adherence compared to Italian standards. This cross-sectional study analyzed patients’ perceptions of colonoscopy procedures to understand the reasons for non-adherence. Patients with a positive FOBT who did not undergo a colonoscopy within the national organized screening program were administered a telephone interview based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) questionnaire. Effective ecosystem-based management requires understanding ecosystem responses to multiple human threats, rather than focusing on single threats. To understand ecosystem responses to anthropogenic threats holistically, it is necessary to know how threats affect different components within ecosystems and ultimately alter ecosystem functioning. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas attieksmes pret homoseksualitāti, agresijas, beznosacījuma sevis pieņemšanas un psihoseksuālo faktoru sakarības pastāv heteroseksuāliem vīriešiem un sievietēm. 182 heteroseksuāli respondenti vecumā no 18 līdz 81 gadam aizpildīja Beznosacījuma sevis pieņemšanas aptauju, Agresijas aptauju, Seksualitātes skalu un Attieksmes pret homoseksualitāti komponenšu skalu. Insufficient literature has been produced addressing children with borderline intellectual functioning (BIF) and gifted intellectual functioning (GIF). The goal of this work is to compare levels of self-esteem, depression, anxiety at school, and insecurity among children with BIF and GIF, and a control group of average intellectual functioning (AIF). There were participants of 104 children (fourth grade of primary school). Analyses revealed that children with BIF showed a lower level of self-esteem and higher levels of depression and school anxiety. Moreover, our findings highlight the co-occurrence of school anxiety, depressed mood, and insecurity among the BIF and AIF groups. One of the …
