In-beam γ-ray spectroscopy of 103Cd
1997
Excited states of Cd-103 were studied in the reaction Ni-58(Cr-50,4pn)Cd-103. The NORDBALL array with neutron and charged particle detectors was employed for the detection of gamma rays and light evaporated particles. The level scheme of Cd-103 was significantly extended. A strong cascade of E2 transitions connecting negative parity states was found, Shell model calculations were performed and positive parity excited states were interpreted in terms of neutron-particle and proton-hole excitations with respect to the doubly magic N = Z = 50 core. The negative parity band was well reproduced by the total routhian surface calculations. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
Coexisting structures in 119I
1997
Abstract High-spin structures of 119 I have been studied by using 13 C and 15 N induced reactions. In all, fifteen ΔI = 1 or 2 bands belonging to 119 I were found. No evidence was found for bands with collective oblate shape, instead, all the observed rotational bands were interpreted to possess a collective prolate shape. A rich tapestry of noncollective states of both negative and positive parity was observed. Based on TRS calculations various configurations at β 2 ≈ 0.17 and γ = 60° were assigned to these states.
Transition probabilities in negative parity bands of the 119I nucleus
2001
Abstract Lifetimes in four negative-parity bands of 119 I were measured using DSAM and RDM. 119 I nuclei were produced in the 109 Ag( 13 C,3n) reaction, γγ coincidences were collected using the NORDBALL array. RDDSA — a new method of RDM analysis — is described. This method allowed for the self-calibration of stopping power. From 31 measured lifetimes, 39 values of B (E2) were established. Calculations in the frame of the Core Quasi Particle Coupling (CQPC) model were focused on the problem of susceptibility of the nucleus to γ -deformation. It was established that nonaxial quadrupole deformation of 119 I plays on important role. The Wilets–Jean model of a γ -soft nucleus describes the 119 …
Glueball masses from ratios of path integrals
2011
By generalizing our previous work on the parity symmetry, the partition function of a Yang-Mills theory is decomposed into a sum of path integrals each giving the contribution from multiplets of states with fixed quantum numbers associated to parity, charge conjugation, translations, rotations and central conjugations. Ratios of path integrals and correlation functions can then be computed with a multi-level Monte Carlo integration scheme whose numerical cost, at a fixed statistical precision and at asymptotically large times, increases power-like with the time extent of the lattice. The strategy is implemented for the SU(3) Yang-Mills theory, and a full-fledged computation of the mass and …
Search for Sneutrino Production ineμFinal States in5.3 fb−1ofpp¯Collisions ats=1.96 TeV
2010
We report the results of a search for R parity violating (RPV) interactions leading to the production of supersymmetric sneutrinos decaying into emu final states using 5.3 fb^-1 of integrated luminosity collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Having observed no evidence for production of emu resonances, we set direct bounds on the RPV couplings lambda^'_311 and lambda_312 as a function of sneutrino mass.

R parity violation assisted thermal leptogenesis in the seesaw mechanism.
2005
Successful leptogenesis within the simplest type I supersymmetric seesaw mechanism requires the lightest of the three right-handed neutrino supermultiplets to be heavier than $\sim10^9$ GeV. Thermal production of such (s)neutrinos requires very high reheating temperatures which result in an overproduction of gravitinos with catastrophic consequences for the evolution of the universe. In this letter, we let R-parity be violated through a $\lambda_i \hat{N}_i \hat{H}_u \hat{H}_d$ term in the superpotential, where $\hat{N}_i$ are right-handed neutrino supermultiplets. We show that in the presence of this term, the produced lepton-antilepton asymmetry can be enhanced. As a result, even for $\ha…
Observation of direct CP violation in kaon decays
2019
A small matter-antimatter asymmetry of the weak force was experimentally established. This CP violation may be related to the small excess of matter from the big bang. The nature of CP violation in the K0 system has been clarified after 37 years of experimentation: it is due to a small part of the weak interaction (“milliweak interaction”). A non-trivial phase in the weak quark mixing matrix generates “direct CP violation” in the weak Hamiltonian. The experiments demonstrating direct CP violation are discussed.
Spin, parity and nature of the Xi(1620) resonance
2002
Using a unitary extension of chiral perturbation theory with a lowest-order s -wave SU(3) chiral Lagrangian we study low-energy meson-baryon scattering in the strangeness S = − 2 sector. A scattering-matrix pole is found around 1605 MeV which corresponds to an s -wave Ξ resonance with J P = 1 / 2 − . We identify this resonance with the Ξ ( 1620 ) state, quoted by the Particle Data Group with I = 1 / 2 but with unknown spin and parity. The addition of the S = − 2 state to the recently computed Λ ( 1670 ) , Σ ( 1620 ) , and N ( 1535 ) states completes the octet of J P = 1 / 2 − resonances dynamically generated in this chiral unitary approach.
