Autortiesību aizsardzības mehānismi.
2019
Pave Frans – bedring, men ingen løsning for en kirke i krise
2020
Is Welsh Poppy,Meconopsis cambrica(L.) Vig. (Papaveraceae), truly aMeconopsis?
2011
AbstractSince the nineteenth century, the western European endemic Meconopsis cambrica has been regarded as the only European representative of the genus Meconopsis Vig. This genus, which is otherwise restricted to the Himalayas, differs from Papaver in having a style rather than a stigmatic disc. A phylogenetic reconstruction using 65 internal transcribed spacer sequences of 62 taxa of Old World Papaveroideae and three outgroup taxa shows that M. cambrica is not the closest relative of the remainder of Meconopsis but rather the closest sampled relative of Papaver s.str. This is consistent with morphological evidence which suggests that the style evolved independently in M. cambrica from a …
Phylogeny of prickly poppies,Argemone (Papaveraceae), and the evolution of morphological and alkaloid characters based on ITS nrDNA sequence variation
1999
Evolutionary relationships withinArgemone (Papaveraceae) were inferred from nucleotide variation in nuclear ribosomal DNA. A complete representation of the genus was achieved by using herbarium material to a large extent (74%). Four distinct clades can be recognized based on the molecular results. The support for the different clades varies greatly due to a very uneven distribution of characters. Although some clades are largely unresolved, some unexpected relationships, for example the sister group relationship of the relict speciesA. subintegrifolia to the rest ofArgemone, were found. The evolution of morphological and alkaloid characters against the background of the obtained phylogeny i…
New records of Cynipidae (Hymenoptera) from Italy
2015
New records of Cynipid gall wasps and inquilines for the Italian peninsula and Sicily and their new host plants for the Palaearctic Region are listed and commented on. Among them we find: Cerroneuroterus cerrifloralis (Mullner 1901) as new for Italy and new for the Palaearctic region as host on Quercus suber; Andricus multiplicatus Giraud 1859 on Q. suber, as new host for the Palaearctic region; Aylax papaveris (Perris 1839), reported in Italy over a century ago, but later overlooked; Cerroneuroterus minutulus (Giraud 1859), also reported more than a century ago from Sicily, but later overlooked. Among the inquilines are here listed: Synergus variabilis Mayr 1872, emerged from Janetia cerri…
Comparative analysis of leaf shape development inEschscholzia californicaand other Papaveraceae-Eschscholzioideae
2011
Dissected leaves in Papaveraceae-Eschscholzioideae have an architecture frequently encountered in the basal eudicot clade Ranunculales that could represent an ancestral condition for eudicots. Developmental morphology of foliage leaves was investigated using scanning electron microscopy and focusing on primordium formation activity (primary morphogenesis) at the leaf margin. Eschscholzia californica, E. lobii, and Hunnemannia fumariaefolia had a polyternate-acropetal mode of leaf dissection. Segment formation continued around the whole leaf blade periphery. Differences in mature leaf architecture was traced to variations in regional blastozone activity and duration. Epidermal cell size meas…
Evaluation of Load transfer in rigid pavements by Rolling wheel deflectometer and Falling weight deflectometer
2020
Abstract Rigid pavements have widespread use, e.g, in motorways and airports, due to their excellent properties such as high bearing capacity and long lifetime. However, when rigid pavements fail it is often due to bad load transfer efficiency (LTE) at its joints. Traditional methods of measuring LTE can be time consuming. Here, we study the possibility of measuring LTE using a moving load with the aim of achieving higher productivity. An experiment simulating Rolling Weight Deflectometer (RWD) measurements on a joint was carried out to gain understanding and confidence that can guide the analysis of real RWD data. Continuous data from measurements across a joint allows for determination of…
Exploiting 3D Modelling and Life Cycle Assessment to Improve the Sustainability of Pavement Management
2020
Today road agencies worldwide face difficult decisions for construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of their road infrastructure as they try to balance limited budgets. This is further complicated rising environmental concerns over equipment and techniques used for these practices. This has led agencies to consider alternative approaches for smarter and sustainable pavement asset management systems. This paper considers the use of a low-cost 3D image modelling distress identification and classification proposal for data acquisition and analysis. To establish its environmental friendliness, a case study in Palermo, Italy, is considered wherein a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) exercise is do…
The Geometry of a Domed Architecture: A Stately Example of Kārbandi at Bagh-e Dolat Abad in Yazd
2016
This paper analyses the kārbandi of the Hashti pavilion at Bagh-e-Dolat Abad in Yazd. Kārbandi is a spatial system obtained through the projection of a star-shaped drawing onto a curved surface. It is characterised by a complex use of geometry and repetitive symmetry. The analysis of its geometrical aspects contributes to an understanding of the traditional rules underlying the original design. The kārbandi of the octagonal vestibule of the Hashti pavilion consists of a complex roof system that completes the octagonal volume of the room below; its intrados presents a pattern of interlocking ribbed arches. The paper also looks at the drawings, module and proportions of the Hashti pavilion, w…
