Limits on point-like sources of ultra-high-energy neutrinos with the Pierre Auger Observatory

With the Surface Detector array (SD) of the Pierre Auger Observatory we can detect neutrinos with energy between 1017 eV and 1020 eV from point-like sources across the sky, from close to the Southern Celestial Pole up to 60 in declination, with peak sensitivities at declinations around ∼-53 and ∼+55, and an unmatched sensitivity for arrival directions in the Northern hemisphere. A search has been performed for highly-inclined air showers induced by neutrinos of all flavours with no candidate events found in data taken between 1 Jan 2004 and 31 Aug 2018. W artykule poruszono zagadnienie charakteru dysput lingwistycznych oraz specyficznych sposobów wyrażania w nich krytyki. Rozważania nad retoryką krytyki w dyskursie akademickim poświęcono sporom językoznawców, przede wszystkim dlatego, że jest to grupa związana z dyskursem akademickim w sposób szczególny. Wiąże się to z jej uczestnictwem w życiu naukowym, a także powołaniem do refleksji nad językiem. Można się zatem spodziewać, że prowadzone przez lingwistów dyskusje będą miały charakter niejako wzorcowy. Analizowany materiał stanowią artykuły opublikowane na łamach czasopisma "Język Polski" na przestrzeni dziesięciu lat (1998-2008).

E' uno studio dedicato ai problemi filologici e letterari proposti dalle opere polemiche del Petrarca, in particolare le «Invective contra medicum». Lo studio di Bausi mira, in generale, a evidenziare come il Petrarca, in queste sue opere, rifiuti la cultura "moderna" - che pur ben conosce - e si appoggi, in prevalenza, sull'«auctoritas» dei classici latini e degli scrittori cristiani.

Speed control of the V2 skating technique in elite cross-country skiers

The aim was to examine how skiers control skiing speed using V2-skating. Subjects skied with three submaximal and maximal speeds on 100 m 4° uphill. Cycle variables and force parameters form the arms and legs were analysed. Cycle rate increased up to the maximum speed. Cycle length increased from the slowest speed to the all other speeds. Pole force and delta leg force increased up to the maximum speed. Ranges of motions and angular velocities of kick flexion and extension with knee and hip joints increased till highest submaximal speed. Narodowe Centrum Nauki we wrześniu 2018 r. zadeklarowało udział w realizacji Planu S, który przewiduje, że od 1 stycznia 2020 r. wszystkie publikacje naukowe powstałe z udziałem finansowania ze środków publicznych muszą być publikowane w czasopismach Open Access lub na platformach Open Access. Na Uniwersytecie Opolskim trwały już wtedy prace nad uruchomieniem platformy, która zapewniłaby otwarty dostęp do uczelnianych czasopism naukowych. Docelowo umieszczono na niej trzynaście tytułów wydawanych przez uczelnię.
