La monografia ripercorre alcune tappe esemplari dell’itinerario vittoriniano dal "Garofano rosso", all’ultimo progetto di romanzo noto come "Manoscritto di Populonia". Al centro di essa si collocano gli affondi ermeneutici dedicati a "Conversazione in Sicilia" e un focus su quello che è stato uno dei nodi fondanti delle tensioni libertarie e dell’engagement vittoriniani ovvero la guerra civile spagnola. DEVELOPMENT OF AN ANTHROPOMORPHIC MODEL FOR VEHICLE – PEDESTRIAN CRASH TEST

The purpose of this work is the achievement of an anthropomorphic model for the virtual simulation of pedestrian – vehicle crash test. “Dummy” construction in Visual Nastran room does possible the preparation of crash test with several vehicle models. Its three-dimensional geometry is implemented by video animation software, extracting the geometry element for element, and its characteristics are in keeping with EURONCAP protocol. Every bodily segment properties are determined using the reference material on the movement biomechanics. At last fall tests from three different heights are simulated for the “Dummy” validation, obtaining a reliable result.

The demand for high-speed ultrasonic scanning of large and complex components is driven by a desire to reduce production bottlenecks during the non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of critical parts. Emerging systems (including robotic inspection) allow for the collection of large volumes of data in short time spans, compared to existing inspection systems. Stress Transfer within CNT Fibres: A FEA Approach

Abstract Carbon nanotube (CNT) fibres are characterized by extreme anisotropy in their structure and physical properties. These fibres have been shown to have high axial strength, but poor shear strength between carbon nanotubes; for this reason it is difficult to transfer stress uniformly acrossthe fibre cross section. Here, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to predict the stress distribution and the stress-strain curves of CNT fibres. The resultsdemonstrate that, in accordance with St. Venant principle,very considerable length-to-diameter ratios (> 10 3 ) are required to obtain a uniform stress distribution within the fibres even in the presence of low applied strain.

Optimization of the characteristic angles of both front and rear McPherson suspensions on a circular track using multi-body numerical simulation

The research reported in this paper aims to simulate the road-holding of a virtual vehicle using multi-body simulation to estimate both the contact forces between the tyre and ground and the roll motion when cornering. Furthermore, the effect of the characteristic angles on the variation in the forces of the tyre in contact with the ground is studied to determine optimal values for these angles. In questo lavoro si è condotto uno studio degli effetti dell’invecchiamento idrotermico sulla tenacità alla frattura interlaminare in Modo I di laminati in composito CFRP con lay-up unidirezionale. I pannelli realizzati impiegano una resina epossidica DGEBA. Provini DCB sono stati ricavati in accordo con la norma ASTM D5528. Prove dinamico meccaniche DMTA sono state condotte per analizzare l’influenza dell’invecchiamento sulla temperatura di transizione vetrosa, e quindi sul grado di fragilità della matrice.
