P-chirogenic secondary phosphine oxides : new synthesis and applications

2015

A new stereoselective synthesis of phosphinous acid boranes is described by hydrolysis of aminophosphines boranes prepared by reaction of the oxazaphospholidine complex derived from ephedrine with organolithium reagents.By reaction with a strong acid, the phosphinous acid boranes lead to the corresponding P-chirogenic secondary phosphine oxides in very good yields (90%) and with complete retention of the configuration at the phosphorus atom. The secondary phosphine oxides have been used in asymmetric hydrogenation and intramolecular Heck cyclisation using rhodium and palladium complexes, respectively. In a second part, a new synthesis of P-chirogenic ortho-halogenophenyl phosphine oxides is…

Identification of markers that can be recognised using spectroscopic sensors and which reflect key stages in the cooking of meat and fish

2016

One of the purposes of the Opticook project is to install spectroscopic sensors in ovens, so equipping them with non intrusive tools allowing following cooking process of meat and fish. The hypothesis on which sensors were developed was: are muscular proteins proper probes to discriminate among several cooking degrees? Thus, at the beginning of the project several tools were used to characterise effect of several cooking degrees on macroscopic properties (texture and colour) of beef, chicken and cod fillet samples. Following, calorimetry and spectroscopic techniques were used to study transformations at molecular scale. In particular, visible spectroscopy followed denaturation of haemprotei…

Study of the first reported nest of loggerhead sea turtle, Caretta caretta, in the Spanish Mediterranean coast

2002

We summarize all the data of nest placement, incubation period, emergence of hatchlings and nest study of the first reported nesting event of a loggerhead turtle Caretta caretta (Reptilia: Cheloniidae) in the Spanish Mediterranean coast. The nest was laid in a beach of Almería province (south-east Spain) in July 2001. The incubation period was 58 days. Forty-two hatchlings emerged from a total of 97 eggs laid. Future beach surveys will determine whether this is a sporadic nesting event or whether loggerheads nest frequently in these coasts.

Contribution à l'étude de la formation des images optiques en microscopie champ proche optique: effet de la sonde en deux dimensions

2004

This work consists in the development of a theoretical tool for the purpose to undertake numerical simulations able to take into account the coupling between the probe and the object. The first part, concerns the combination of the differential method and the algorithms T and S, to overcome numerical problems which appear in the cases where the size of system (probe - object) is more realistic. The developed global model is two-dimensional and applied in polarization TE under the normal diffraction condition. We have used the developed model to study the formation of optical image by monomodes and multimodes probes. The obtained optical images at constant height, have allowed us to study th…

Energy management of a thermally coupled fuel cell system and metal hydride tank

2019

International audience; Being produced from renewable energy, hydrogen is one of the most efficient energy carriers of the future. Using metal alloys, hydrogen can be stored and transported at a low cost, in a safe and effective manner. However, most metals react with hydrogen to form a compound called metal hydride (MH). This reaction is an exothermic process, and as a result releases heat. With sufficient heat supply, hydrogen can be released from the as-formed metal hydride. In this work, we propose an integrated power system of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) together with a hydride tank designed for vehicle use. We investigate different aspects for developing metal hydride…

COMPARISON BETWEEN Mg IIkAND Ca II H IMAGES RECORDED BY SUNRISE/SuFI

2014

We present a comparison of high-resolution images of the solar surface taken in the Mg II k and Ca II H channels of the Filter Imager on the balloon-borne solar observatory SUNRISE. The Mg and Ca lines are sampled with 0.48 nm and 0.11 nm wide filters, respectively. The two channels show remarkable qualitative and quantitative similarities in the quiet Sun, in an active region plage and during a small flare. However, the Mg filtergrams display 1.4-1.7 times higher intensity contrast and appear more smeared and smoothed in the quiet Sun. In addition, the fibrils in a plage are wider. Although the exposure time is 100 times longer for Mg images, the evidence suggests that these differences ca…

Modeling and numerical simulation of the propagation of pitting corrosion of iron in chlorinated medium : contribution to the evaluation of the durab…

2012

This study deals with the understanding of the mechanisms of pitting corrosion susceptible to occur on carbon steel selected for high level nuclear waste containers. Transport/reaction models have been developed in order to simulate, by finite element method, the propagation of a pit on iron in chlorinated medium. For conservative models, pit is activated by imposing a potential on metal. Thanks to different parametric studies (geometry, environment…) simulations have permitted to classify, by severity order, the factors responsible of the increase or the inhibition of the localized corrosion rate. Otherwise, experiments on occluded (called « lead-in-pencil ») electrodes confirm that confin…

Rôle des espèces sulfures dans la corrosion des aciers non alliés : hétérogénéités de la couche de produits de corrosion et couplages galvaniques

2014

The present study relates to the problem of the long-term interim storage of nuclear wastes. In France, it is envisaged that high-level radioactive wastes will be confined in a glass matrix, stored in a stainless steel canister, itself placed in a carbon steel overpack. The wastes will then be stored at a depth of ~450 m in a deep geological disposal, drilled in a very stiff (indurated) clay (argillite) formation. A temperature as high as 90°C is expected at the steel surface because of the intense radioactivity. Anodic polarization at applied current density was used to synthetize corrosion product layers likely to be formed in storage conditions. The S235 steel electrodes were covered by …

Quantum Nanoplasmonic : from dressed atom picture to superradiance

2019

Controlling quantum emitters (atoms, molecules, quantum dots, etc.), light, and its interactions is a key issue for implementing devices for information optical processing at the quantum level. For example, controlling dynamics of emitters coupled to a high-Q cavity can be achieved through cavity quantum electrodynamics (cQED). Plasmonic structures hybrid system are of growing interest in the quantum control at the nanoscale because of their capability to confine light beyond the diffraction limit. However, its application appears notoriously limited in practical situations due to the intrinsic presence of numerous and lossy modes, which complicates the description and the interpretation of…

Théorie des spectres rovibroniques des molécules octaédriques : Hamiltonien et moments de transition

2002

This thesis is devoted to the treatment of rovibronic couplings of octahedral species for which the Born-Oppenheimer approximation is broken down. By using the octahedral formalism, a full effective rovibronic model is extended from works about molecules in a non-degenerate electronic state. This effective model is dedicated to molecules with an odd or an even number of electrons and it has been successfully applied to V(CO)6 and ReF6. For both of them we have four interacting vibronic sublevels attributed to a dynamical Jahn-Teller effect and giving rise to very complicated spectra. This model is validated by the overall agreement between predicted and observed band profiles. Moreover, an …
