Stereotactic fractionated radiotherapy in patients with optic nerve sheath meningioma.

Abstract Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of stereotactic fractionated radiotherapy (SFRT) in the treatment of optic nerve sheath meningioma (ONSM). Methods and Materials: Between 1994 and 2000, a total of 39 patients with either primary ( n = 15) or secondary ( n = 24) ONSM were treated with SFRT and received a median total tumor dose of 54 Gy using 1.8 Gy/fraction. Results: The radiographic response to SFRT was documented in all patients as stable disease (no change) except for 1 patient with a partial response. It is a major challenge to preoperatively identify patients who will profit from surgery of advanced oral cancer. In multimodality therapy, response to neoadjuvant radiation correlates to treatment success. Hence, for preoperative decisions, assessment of treatment response is required. The aim of this current study was to quantitatively describe radiation-induced DNA damage and its distribution in leukocytes of cancer patients after fractionated partial- or total-body radiotherapy. Specifically, the impact of exposed anatomic region and administered dose was investigated in breast and prostate cancer patients receiving partial-body radiotherapy. DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) were quantified by γ-H2AX immunostaining. Background and Objectives: The term acrometastases (AM) refers to secondary lesions sited distally to the elbow and knee, representing 0.1% of all bony metastases. By frequency, pulmonary cancer and gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract neoplasms are the most responsible for the reported AM. NK/T-cell lymphomas 'nasal type': an italian multicentric retrospective survey

Abstrac Objective: To evaluate the clinical characteristics and outcome of NK/T-cell lymphoma ‘nasal type’ developed in Italian patients. Patients: Between 1997 and 2004, 26 new cases of NK/T-cell lymphoma ‘nasal type’ were diagnosed in 10 Italian Hematology institutions. Results: All patients were Caucasian, male/female ratio was 19/7, with a median age of 50 years (range 20–80). Chemoradiotherapy of Newly Diagnosed Glioblastoma With Intensified Temozolomide

Purpose To evaluate the toxicity and efficacy of chemoradiotherapy with temozolomide (TMZ) administered in an intensified 1-week on/1-week off schedule plus indomethacin in patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma. RAS mutations and cetuximab in locally advanced rectal cancer: Results of the EXPERT-C trial

Background: RAS mutations predict resistance to anti-epidermal growthfactor receptor (EGFR) monoclonal antibodies in metastatic colorectal cancer.
