Su una stele di marmo bianco ritrovata, alla fine del XIX secolo, nel santuario di Anfiarao ad Oropo in Beozia, è conservato il testo di un’epistola in lingua greca che i consoli romani inviarono ai magistrati, al consiglio e al popolo degli Oropii, per trasmettere l’esito di una controversia presentata al senato romano. Nel 73 a.C. infatti un senatus consultum interviene a dirimere la disputa sorta tra il dio Anfiarao e i pubblicani romani, rappresentati da L. Domizio Enobarbo. L’articolo analizza L’Adamo, ovvero il Mondo creato, poema scientifico-filosofico di Tommaso Campailla (1668-1740), accademico modicano, che partecipò con i suoi esperimenti scientifici e la sua opera letteraria a diffondere la filosofia cartesiana e le nuove mirabili scoperte in ogni campo del sapere. Nel poema Campailla ricorre al motivo tradizionale del viaggio di conoscenza per squadernare al Primo Uomo, Adamo, le straordinarie meraviglie della creazione, tentando una sintesi tra istanze scientifiche e nuove direttrici della poesia settecentesca.

Obiettivo. Obiettivo del presente studio è stato quello di rilevare qualsiasi possibile variazione nella pressione intraoculare (PIO) in soggetti non glaucomatosi sottoposti a esami endoscopici come la gastroscopia o la colonscopia, al fine di valutare il ruolo della tensione mentale in tali cambiamenti. Metodi. Aim: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has increased the number of iatrogenic lesion of the biliary tree. In this study, we evaluate the role of intra-operative cholangiography in prevention of biliary tree iatrogenic lesions and early identification of choledocolithiasis, during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Material of study: 169 patients who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy, were evaluated by means of intra-operative cholangiography. Static solutions for highly motile structures such as the groin seem to represent a procedural incongruence. Another important issue in prosthetic hernia repair is related to the poor quality of tissue ingrowth within conventional flat meshes and plugs. These are all static, passive devices, and thus do not move in synchrony with the natural movements of the groin. In the literature there is a clear understanding of how conventional prostheses used for inguinal hernia repair are incorporated by rigid fibrotic tissue. Background: Secondary hyperparathyroidism is a common acquired disorder seen in chronic renal failure. Its pathophysiology is mainly due to hyperphosphatemia and vitamin D deficiency and resistance. When medical treatment fails, subtotal and total parathyroidectomy with autotransplantation are the standard procedures, although both are associated with high recurrence rates.Methods and Results: 4 patients experienced persistence and 9 relapse. INTRODUZIONE:L’iperparatiroidismo terziario (THP) è una condizione caratterizzata dalla persistenza di elevati valori di paratormone (PTH) e di conseguente ipercalcemia in soggetti affetti da iperparatiroidismo secondario all’insufficienza renale cui il trapianto di rene non riesce a normalizzare i livelli di PTH. E’ caratterizzata da un’iperplasia autonoma di 1-4 ghiandole paratiroidee. L’unica terapia per questi soggetti è l’escissione di quel tessuto paratiroideo ipersecernente per ridurre i livelli di PTH e di calcemia prevenendo così le possibili conseguenze quali lesioni da calcifilassi, osteoporosi, dolori ossei. This study aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of the TRIOS3 Color intraoral scanner (3Shape A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark) and its associated Ortho Analyzer™ software in measuring parameters of smile aesthetics compared with measurements on plaster casts. The study sample comprised plaster casts and digital models obtained from 30 subjects.
