Since parental burnout can have detrimental consequences for parents, couples, and children, easy-to-use, reliable, and valid practical tools for the early detection of parental burnout are required. We developed and validated a brief scale to identify burned-out parents and parents at burnout risk. In Study 1, we developed the 5-item Brief Parental Burnout scale (BPBs) based on the gold standard measure of parental burnout, the Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA). Forskolin (FSK) affects voltage-gated K + (Kv) currents in different cell types, but it is not known which of the various subunits form FSK-sensitive Kv channels. We compared the effect of the compound at Kv1.1 and Kv1.4 channels ectopically expressed in HEK 293 cells. Low FSK concentrations induced a phosphorylation-dependent potentiation of Kv1.1 currents. At higher concentrations, this effect was superimposed by a fast, cAMP-independent channel block. Kv1.4 currents were inhibited with lower potency by FSK but were not modified by phosphorylation. Under both external and parametric random excitations the evolution of the probability density function of roll motion is evaluated using the path integral (PI) approach. Our aim is to describe clinical and optical coherence tomographic features of acute paraneoplastic focal outer retinitis associated with optic neuropathy in a patient diagnosed with small cell lung carcinoma. Bilateral focal outer retinitis, bilateral optic disc oedema and vitritis were identified in a patient with progressive bilateral visual loss and ataxia. Spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) revealed various extents of granular hyperreflectivity and atrophy of the macular outer retinal layers.
