Complexation of the tetrapodal pentadentate NN4 ligand 2,6-C5H3N[CMe(CH2NH2)2]2 (I) with iron(II) perchlorate hydrate in methanol, in the presence of N-methylimidazole, produces a diferrous complex with a single, unsupported mu-OH ligand between two {(I)FeII} coordination modules.

During the 19th Century and with the first translations of Don Quixote to japanese, Cervantes’ work started to be part of the country’s mass culture. As a manifestation of this phenomenon, the manga absorbed the image of the knight-errant. This comic genre adapted it to its aesthetic criteria and merged it with its history and folklore. At the same time, the manga has been exported to Western world, where readers and artists are familiarized with its characteristical style. Implementation of an Innovation in Education Project in the Degree of English Studies at the University of Valencia

Begona.Clavel@uv.es The 21st century is and surely will be characterized by multiple and dramatic changes at all levels, but especially in the field of technology. This paper examines how some of these changes influence the way in which languages in general, and English in particular, are taught nowadays. We show how we have applied an Innovation in Education Project methodology in some modules in the degree in English Studies. Our most important instrument is our E-Learning platform (Aula Virtual) which offers us numerous ways in which to bridge the gap between our students and the team of teachers and permits our students to learn through a more interactive type of methodology.

An orbital floating time scale of the Hauterivian-Barremian transition (Early Cretaceous) is proposed using high-resolution magnetic susceptibility measurements. Orbital tuning was performed on the Río Argos section (southeast Spain), the candidate for a Global boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) for the Hauterivian-Barremian transition. Spectral analyses of MS variations, coupled with the frequency ratio method, allow the recognition of precession, obliquity and eccentricity frequency bands. A series of 3-D asthenospheric-scale analogue models have been conducted in the laboratory in order to simulate the arrival of a spreading ridge at the trench and understand its effect on plate kinematics, slab geometry, and on the deformation of the overriding plate. These models are made of a two-layered linearly viscous system simulating the lithosphere and asthenosphere. We reproduce the progressive decrease in thickness of the oceanic lithosphere at the trench. We measure plate kinematics, slab geometry and upper plate deformation. Power monitoring in dielectric-loaded surface plasmon-polariton waveguides

We report on propagating mode power monitoring in dielectric-loaded surface plasmon-polariton waveguides (DLSPPWs) by measuring the resistance of gold stripes supporting the DLSPPW mode propagation. Inevitable absorption of the DLSPPW mode in metal causes an increase in the stripe temperature and, thereby, in its resistance whose variations are monitored with an external Wheatstone bridge being accurately balanced in the absence of radiation in a waveguide.
