The Patres ecclesiae?s works were a frequent topic of discussion at the time in which many humanists stood against the decadent medieval scholastics. That Juan Luis Vives was part of this tradition is demonstrated in his commentaries on Saint Augustine works. Despite its pedagogical function, the scholia of the Valencian author became quite subjective. In this sense, his ecdotic work or, specially, his «criticisms and censures» can be mentioned. Here, Vives strongly disapproves of the intense political and intellectual turmoil of his epoch. Thus, this article is aimed at describing those annotations in which Vives adopts such an Erasmist point of view to comment Augustine?s De Civitate Dei.…

Increasing consumer awareness for all natural products has quickly led to growing research on new resources of potent and profitable natural antioxidants. In this context, for the first time, the Kolkhoung hull oil (KHO) (Pistacia khinjuk)-unsaponifiable matters (USM) (UHO) (100, 200, and 400 mg kg−1) were incorporated into refined soybean oil (RSO) and the oxidative stability of prepared oils was measured during 32 hours of frying. AbstractMotoneuron excitability is possible to measure using H-reflex and V-wave responses. However, it is not known how the motor control is organized, how the H-reflex and V-wave responses modulate and how repeatable these are during dynamic balance perturbations. To assess the repeatability, 16 participants (8 men, 8 women) went through two, identical measurement sessions with ~ 48 h intervals, where maximal isometric plantar flexion (IMVC) and dynamic balance perturbations in horizontal, anterior–posterior direction were performed. AbstractThe current chapter addresses ethical issues in crowdfunding practice from a multiple stakeholder perspective. It draws on ethical principles outlined in both classical and business-specific approaches. The discussion first presents classical approaches to ethical decision making. It then discusses whether crowdfunding presents an ethical solution or a source of ethical problems. Later, it suggests a framework presenting a classification of potential ethical dilemmas and pitfalls in crowdfunding practice, as well as potential means for addressing them. The discussion concludes with concrete implications for crowdfunding ethics research and practice.

Pētījumā ar virsrakstu “Angļu Valodas Neoloģismi Multikulturālās Biznesa Sapulcēs Pandēmiju Periodā” mērķis ir atrast un analizēt neoloģismus, kas radušies multikulturālās biznesa sapulcēs COVID-19 un HIV/AIDS pandēmiju periodā, lai attaisnotu, ka lielāks skaits neoloģismu radās COVID-19 pandēmijas, nevis HIV/AIDS pandēmijas laikā. Bakalaura darba “Sapropeļa izmantošana personīgas higiēnas līdzekļos: sapropeļa cieto ziepju īpašības un izmantošanas dzīves cikla novērtējums” ietvaros tika noteikti triju tirgū pieejamo un četru paštaisīto ezeru nogulumu cieto ziepju kvalitātes rādītāji un īpašības, paštaisītām ziepēm tika modelēts izmantošanas dzīves cikls. Paštaisītās sapropeļa ziepes tika pagatavotas, izmantojot sapropeli kā pildījumu. Darba teorētiskajā daļā tika veikta zinātniskās literatūras analīze par cieto ziepju pagatavošanas metodēm, piedevu īpašībām un to sastāvu, produkta izmantošanas dzīves ciklu, kā arī par sapropeļa izmantošanu kosmetoloģijā un balneoloģijā.
