Spectral broadening of the Soret band in myoglobin: an interpretation by the full spectrum of low-frequency modes from a normal modes analysis.
2005
In this work the temperature dependence of the Soret band line shape in carbon-monoxy myoglobin is re-analyzed by using both the full correlator approach in the time domain and the frequency domain approach. The new analyses exploit the full density of vibrational states of carbon-monoxy myoglobin available from normal modes analysis, and avoid the artificial division of the entire set of vibrational modes coupled to the Soret transition into "high-frequency" and "low-frequency" subsets; the frequency domain analysis, however, makes use of the so-called short-times approximation, while the time domain one avoids it. Time domain and frequency domain analyses give very similar results, thus s…
High myopic patients with and without foveoschisis: morphological and functional characteristics.
2020
Purpose: Myopic foveoschisis (MF) is characterized by the splitting of the retinal layers in the fovea of patients with high myopia (HM). MF may progress into foveal detachment or macular hole formation with consequent loss of central vision. The aim of this study is to investigate morphological and functional changes of the macular region in myopic subjects with and without foveoschisis. Design: Observational, cross-sectional, comparative study. Methods: Forty-eight patients with HM and 24 healthy controls were evaluated by spectral domain-optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), multifocal electroretinography (mfERG) and microperimetry (MP-1) tests to assess macular thickness, functionality…
Application of deep convolutional neural networks for the detection of anthracnose in olives using VIS/NIR hyperspectral images
2021
Anthracnose is one of the primary diseases that affect olive production before and after harvest, causing severe damage and economic losses. The objective of this work is to detect this disease in the early stages, using hyperspectral images and advanced modelling techniques of Deep Learning (DL) and convolutional neural networks (CNN). The olives were artificially inoculated with the fungus. Hyperspectral images (450–1050 nm) of each olive were acquired until visual symptoms of the disease were observed, in some cases up to 9 days. The olives were classified into two classes: control, inoculated with water, and fungi composed of olives inoculated with the fungus. The ResNet101 architecture…

Study of the Density and Temperature Dependences of the Vibrational Raman Transition in Compressed Liquid N2
1991
0021-9606; Accurate values of linewidth and line shift in the isotropic vibrational Raman spectrum of compressed liquid N2 have been obtained by using inverse Raman spectroscopy. Experiments have been performed for eight isotherms, from the normal boiling point to the critical point temperatures of N2, the number density varying between the value on the coexistence line, and the maximum value of 2.1 x 10^22 cm-3. Minima of the linewidth have been observed above 86 K, showing the increasing influence of vibration-rotation coupling (motional narrowing) competing with the broadening due to pure vibrational dephasing. Moreover, for the first time, maxima of the red line shifts have been found, …
