In spite of the importance of figures referred to published titles, or number of copies printed, which help to set publishing strategies and to really know the comic situation in Spain, there are no liable data. We are giving in this article, some enlightening data along with some explanations related to the evolution of the market from 2001 to 2009. The different titles are grouped considering the place they come from (Europe, Asia, United States…), along with their format (album, book, magazine, comic-book…). The Steiner Traveling Salesman Problem and its extensions

Abstract This paper considers the Steiner Traveling Salesman Problem, an extension of the classical Traveling Salesman Problem on an incomplete graph where not all vertices have demand. Some extensions including several depots or location decisions are introduced, modeled and solved. A compact integer linear programming formulation is proposed for each problem, where the routes are represented with two-index decision variables, and parity conditions are modeled using cocircuit inequalities. Exact branch-and-cut algorithms are developed for all formulations. Computational results obtained confirm the good performance of the algorithms. Instances with up to 500 vertices are solved optimally.

An Exact Algorithm for the Quadratic Assignment Problem on a Tree

The Tree QAP is a special case of the Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP) where the nonzero flows form a tree. No condition is required for the distance matrix. This problem is NP-complete and is also a generalization of the Traveling Salesman Problem. In this paper, we present a branch-and-bound algorithm for the exact solution of the Tree QAP based on an integer programming formulation of the problem. The bounds are computed using a Lagrangian relaxation of this formulation. To solve the relaxed problem, we present a Dynamic Programming algorithm which is polynomially bounded. This paper considers how St Giovanni Bosco’s nineteenth century creation of vocational laboratories in the Piedmont was an important milestone in the development of Italian work pedagogy. His preventive method was formative because it concerned both single individuals as well as cultivation of human relationships within community contexts. After Don Bosco’s death those first workshops evolved into schools that developed practical work pedagogies that remained faithful to Bosco’s ideals as they responded to the changing needs of the times. Still present within the Salesian vocation school experience are the historical principals that highly value manual work.
