Project “Linguistically sensitive teaching in all classrooms” (Listiac) aims to make an impact on initial teacher education systems in Europe through action research. The analysis of literature concerning of theory of values hierarchy by M. Rokeach and model of the quality of life by B. Mróz allowed to creation of research hypotheses. Model MOA, the Sense of Life Quality Questionnaire, and the Value Scale were used in order to raise data base for a verifi cation which came from 126 students. A model for instructional design in mathematics implemented in teacher education

International audience; This paper presents a model for instructional design in mathematics and reports from student teachers' experimentation with it in secondary school. The model is framed within the theory of didactical situations in mathematics. It contributes to the research field through the notion of an epistemological model, which provides an enhanced understanding of the stage of ‘conception and a priori analysis' of didactical engineering. Findings show how the model is instrumental in creating student teachers' awareness of the impact of the milieu on the nature of the knowledge developed by the pupils.

Between theory and practice – foreign language teacher students’ cognition of oral proficiency and grammar teaching in Sweden

The present study explores patterns of cognition among 14 foreign language (FL) teacher students in Sweden regarding teaching oral proficiency and grammar in French German, Italian and Spanish. It is based on reflective cumulative log texts written by the students during a theoretical course in FL pedagogy. The log texts were investigated using qualitative content analysis to uncover central themes and patterns of agency. This paper presents a Glaserian grounded theory study of adult students’ holistic professional growth in a two-year tailored, work-related, teacher qualification program in physical education. The data consisted of reflective learning diaries, interviews and the written texts of 20 adult students. Finnish adult students’ perspectives on short-cycle study programmes : motives and evaluations

We investigated how students in Finland perceive short-cycle higher education programmes. In line with the European trend, Finland has piloted short-cycle study programmes in order to attract adult students into higher education. We found that the students were mainly satisfied with their studies, and that their orientations to studies and learning were extrinsic in nature. The strengths of the programme were perceived as related to the flexibility of the studies, the variety of teaching methods, and the extensive contents of the studies. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää opiskelijoiden ja opettajien käsityksiä hyvästä verkko-opetuksesta ja -opiskelusta. Tutkimuksessa keskityttiin erityisesti verkko- opettajan roolin ja tehtävien tarkasteluun. Verkko-opetusta tutkittiin osana opetus-opiskelu-oppiminen prosessia (Uljens 1997, Kansanen 1999). Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot akadēmiskās prokrastinācijas saistību ar studentu pašregulāciju un mācību stratēģijām un cik lielā mērā pašregulācija un mācību stratēģijas faktori prognozē akadēmisko prokrastināciju. Pētījumā piedalījās 150 bakalaura studenti vecumā no 18 līdz 29 gadiem ( M =20,55 gadi, SD =1,84 ), sievietes 83 un 67 vīrieši.
